I’m trading in my ST220 ‘03 model (9 months old, 7k on the clock) for the new model. The dealer has offered me £16,250 trade in which under the Ford Privilege scheme means that it’s a straight swap bar £24 for the full size spare. The bonus being I avoid a service and road tax for another year and also delay buying 2 front tyres for another year. Cheers Ford, I’ll be back again in 9 months to do it again!!

What car should I buy? I had been looking for quite some time, then I saw an ST220. It looked fabulous, especially the twin exhaust! So in January I ordered one in Black and delivery is now due in April. Can't wait!

I placed an order for an ST220 in late February and have been promised delivery at the end of March. I would be grateful if anyone who has placed an order at about the same time would advise as to what delivery date they have been given.

I have also placed an order for an ST220 in the middle of Feb. I've been told it's sitting in Genk awaiting the next boat to Dagenham.

I ordered my replacement ST220 on 04/02/04 having been the proud owner of a Performance Blue one for the last 9 months. I wouldn't even consider another make or model. I've had an excellent experience both from the dealer and the car itself. Never a problem with the car and only about £110 for its first service. The only thing I could knock would be the cost of the tyres for it (£130 each) but then you only get what you pay for. I've been told, like many others, that my new car is in Gent and delivery is expected 10/04/2004. Still can't wait even though there's one parked outside my house right now. If that doesn't prove what a great car the ST220 is nothing will.

Thank you for all the feedback. I've been trying to decide which new car to buy for several weeks and the feedback from everyone here has made my mind up - I'm ordering a ST220. I'm from New Zealand and the ST220 is a very rare car here and is not sold in Australia - apparently Ford only expect to sell 10 per annum so without everyone's input on this site it would have been hard to get relevant feedback.
Now I have to wait for her to arrive!!!

I ordered my ST220 on February 28th and the dealer is telling me that it still hasn't been made yet!
Has anyone out there got a delivery date yet on their new car? I would be interested to know what others are hearing as I was told I would only have to wait two to three weeks.
Any feedback would be great.

A quick update for those in the same position as myself (ST220 ordered Feb 28th).
The dealership today says I should receive my car at the end of April/ first week in May. Anyone else had an update yet?

I've taken delivery of a Panther Black 5 door ST220 with tech pack option, phone pre-equipment pack, heated rear seats and sunroof. Done about 1800 miles in it now and the six speed box is an absolute dream.
Agree with the earlier comments and about most of the torque being produced above 4500rpm, but I'm sure one of the 'chip' companies will get around to making a mod available so that things start happening around 2800rpm or so.
Very pleased with the car and 400 miles on a tank of petrol is definitely achievable if you do a lot of motorway driving - different story around town though, although not that bad actually.
Still very few on the road as well which makes a nice change.

Hello people. I ordered my ST220 on the 18th of March. I just wanted to let you all know the schedule. It's a 5 door, black, technology pack, park assist and heavy duty battery. Tracker to be dealer fitted.
Started build in Gent on 6th of April and takes up to a week (paint and factory installation options etc). Should arrive in UK about 1st of May. Predicted at my dealer (Essex Ford Rayleigh) 6th of May where it will have Tracker installed. Predicted to be available to me about 12th of May. So a bit of a wait, but not too bad.
I currently drive an ST170 which I like, but I've had a lot of problems with it. I wanted something larger and more powerful, but more importantly something less problematic! The ST220 fits the bill perfectly.
The tracker is for peace of mind, but it also helps reduce the insurance (and pays for itself if I keep the car long enough). I'm 26 and my insurance will be £740. I can live with that.
I need to quit this habit of reading everything I can about the ST220. It's all good... very good... and it's making the delivery date seem further and further away!
I intend to post my review once I've spent a week or so driving "grunt" around Essex. Look out for me, I'll be the one with a huge smile!

To the guy who ordered his ST on the 15 Feb. I ordered mine from Dagenham Motors on the 6th Feb and have been given a dealer delivery date of 5th June! I could have ordered from an internet company and had a quicker delivery date. The story I was told was that the not enough ST were ordered from UK dealers to make up a run therefore delivery has been put back. As a result of this long delivery I’m now being told this will effect the price of my part exchange (‘03 ST220), which basically means it’s Fords fault for the delay and they are going to penalize me for it, nice way to attract repeat business.

Unfortunately, depreciation on the ST220 is horrific and you would be lucky to see £15,000 trade in after 1 year and 12000 miles. The 5 door might be worth a few hundred more, but I would have a 4 door as it looks nicer and is slightly more rigid (better handling. less squeaks). My advice is buy whatever bodystyle/colour you like the best and to hell with the resale, you will lose a fortune regardless.
