If the Camaros are so much better than the Mustangs, why did Chevy discontinue them. Enough said.

Look, I own a 01 Cobra and I love it. But it's not the greatest car in the world. Neither is any late model Camaro or Trans-Am. It would have to be a Ferrari Enzo or a McLaren F1. Any one that thinks that a $25000-$30000 late model American performance car is the "worlds best car" is just plain wrong.

LMAO... you guys make me laugh. Why do you fight over which American car is better... it's going to be an agree to disagree situation... back and forth. They're all great cars... you're all wasting your time; everyone likes different cars... And I'm going to back Ford all the way... Dodge and GM aren't doing as well as Ford if you ask me. The Mustang is the legend of all muscle CARS.

Yes, I agree that Mustang is the ultimate pony car. I've owned 7 and currently own one. Is it the "best"? It depends on your definition of "best". If that means "fastest", then no. Mustang has NEVER been the fastest. Camaro, Nova, Challenger, Duster, Demon, Barracuda and Firebird have all been faster.
Does it handle better? No. Many cars handle much better. The late Pontiac GTO (an Australian Holden Monaro) was both faster and better handling. Then what makes the Mustang "better"?? I honestly can't say. It is just a quality about it the makes people want to own it. I knew when I bought mine that there were many faster and better handling cars. I guess it is primarily the styling, especially on the new retro style models.
Will the new Camaro and Challenger "knock it off"?? Doubtful. I checked out a new Challenger yesterday and it is the absolute best retro style I've seen. It is gorgeous. My family owns a 1970 Challenger R/T and the new ones are VERY true to the original look in every way. I love them. The new Camaro has been described as "cartoonish" by a number of folks. It does look goofy, but it offers more power than a 2009 Mustang GT in its base V-6. Both Dodge and Camaro offer really sporty colors, unlike Ford, which offers only red and a series of "old Lady" colors for the new Mustang. I have to say at this point that if I were trading now I'd opt for the Challenger based on the styling alone. It has hit a home run. They are ALL good cars. I'm proud American manufacturers can produce such cars. It's a hard choice.

Okay okay... I'm a Stang guy, and I have to admit. The Z's are faster. However, the F's just feel like driving a boat. so its less than a second faster. At least the stang drivers can see where they're going and don't have the "roller skate taped to your butt" sensation. Its the ride, man.
