I just want to say that I own a 1995 Ford Probe SE and I have had very little problems with it. It has over 150,000 miles on it and still runs great. Maybe you just got one that has because of other reasons, like being wrecked. That doesn't mean that all 1995 Probes are bad cars. Quit complaining!!!

I have a 1995 Ford Probe SE and with about a thousand dollars in modifications it is faster than the GT. As far as the transmission goes I have 99,000 miles on my car with the stock transmission and it is still as good as the day I got it. Oh and also I don't know why some of you are making fun of imports because the engine in the SE is built by Mazda. -Dan.

Steven, I have a 96 Ford Probe SE. I've had it for 3 years and I'm about to put in my 4th transmission. I'm just as frustrated as you are. I have put more money into fixing the car than I did to buy it. I don't think you're complaining, just venting frustrations. When you put thousands of dollars into a vehicle, you should expect it to prove itself for at least 5 years. However, I do love the appearance.fad

Hello. I just purchased a 96 Ford Probe SE with 90,000 mils at an auction and it's a beautiful car inside and out! Runs great. Everything is still in mint condition. I haven't got to drive it much yet, but so far there are only a few little problems with it. Hopefully in the future I won't encounter anymore problems. I'am an American so therefor I go for American made cars, despite the engine made by Mazda.

The engine, drivetrain, and everything else in the Probe SE ARE THE EXACT same things as the MX-6. As far as the transmission goes, the automatics are the ones with the problems; if it is a stick, LEARN HOW TO DRIVE IT.
I am about to buy a 1995 Probe SE with a 2.0 DOHC 5 speed with 115,000 miles on the car, motor and tranny. The motor is the same thing that's in the Eclipses, Neons, Mazdas, Talons. The only thing that separates all of them is the name, body style, and gearing. I have heard of people flipping the motors in the Probes, and making them drifters that kick real ass.
I work at an auto shop and I know my stuff. The Probes can be made to be fast, yes they are a little bit harder to soup up. But here's a little secret - if you can find another 2.0 DOHC (which is in the SE's and base models), all you gotta do is find parts for a 2.0 DOHC engines. You could go the Japanese way and get a KLZE Japanese motor, which is in the Probes on the east side of the world, for about a grand, and do a swap.

I have bought a 95 Probe se. Best Car I ever had. Its got 180,000 miles all original no rust, ac works, and only paid 800 for it off some girl at work. she sold it so cheap because tranny light flashed. Drained all fluids, replaced spark plugs and reset computer, runs great shifts smooth through all gears, had it over a year now not one problem and no lights flashing. Great BUY...

I just bought a 1995 Ford Probe SE. It is the best car I have ever had! I had a Mazda RX-7, but this car beats that car by a long shot. I've put very little money into it and it runs great. Very good A/C. Little air leak. The handling is exceptional. The only thing is my car is a little 4 cylinder engine. It would have been nice if it was a 6 cylinder. It is a great car for the price!!!!!
