Of course a Geo Metro is more reliable than a FORD of any kind.. in fact the entire Geo line-up is more reliable than any Ford vehicle! A four cylinder Probe is beyond weak I've taken several from the start in my 1997 Metro! Next time don't buy a Ford you will only have problems... next time stick with Geo or Suzuki!

What is all this crap about Metros? THere is no way on earth a METRO can compare to a PROBE. I mean, come on, a Metro might still be going strong or whatever, but LOOK at it! Personally, I don't have a half hour to get to 60 mph. And by the way, my 180 hp GT can burn ALL YALL!

Who the hell buys an AUTOMATIC sports car? With a 4 cylinder engine? HELLO? Kinda defeats the purpose. And then, who the hell expects power from it? My friend and I have identical Probe GTs, only hers is an auto and mine is manual and I leave her in the dust EVERY time. Maybe you shoulda just got that automatic Metro.

I doesn't matter what you all say. And you can live in your stupid little Metro's for all I care. The key to the original review is:
"I bought this car because I was in a hurry and needed a car that day."
It doesn't matter what they bought. They would have gotten ripped off. Any salesperson can tell when you're desperate. He needed to get rid of a car, you needed a car. Simple equation. Personally I wouldn't spend a few grand on something that I couldn't at least check out thoroughly.

You'd think the people in here would have a clue what they are talking about since they're reading car forums. But I guess you can't expect a metro owner to be smart. But yes, keep bashing Ford if you want, but Ford claims nothing mechanical on the Probe. It's ALL MAZDA! The only thing ford was responsible for was the interior and body. And you're not going to go tell me that they're going to build a metro that's better than any mazda.

Anyone that has problems with their Probe is because of one of 2 reasons... First of all if you have an auto... well tough luck. Second is that that you (or the previous owner) ran the crap outta your car, and that's why there is nothing to it. Oh yes, and my '97 Probe SE could no doubt BURN your Metro... Look at the stats... a little 1.4 Liter 80 HP engine verses a 2.0 DOHC 16V I-4 125HP engine... I'd say you should plead NO CONTEST... Oh, and yeah, my Probe has not given me a problem yet and is still running STRONG...
