1999 Ford Taurus - I'm SO tired of the problems this car has! We had the heater core replaced by a Ford dealership in the summer of 2007 and the car had problems probably 6 months later - BAD on and off heating.
My coolant has TURNED to the color of RUST! My car REEKS of coolant! It blurts out occasional smoke out of the engine area. It REEKS like oil! It "looks like" there's oil in the coolant! This is really getting ridiculous. Yeah, the car looks cute. But c'mon Ford, let's get a better design going here. RECALL the 1999's for their heads and gaskets and cooling system -- do it right!

99 Taurus SE w/3.0 Duratec (and some SHO goodies added for show). Driven close to 100 miles a day, mostly open highway.
235,000+ and she's still going strong.
So far I've had to replace her water pump and have the transmission resealed. She'll be needing CV joints and a PS pump flush soon, but other than that she's as strong as ever.

Hello. I understand why you are upset. You have every right to be. But I have a 1999 Taurus that I have owned for 10 years now. It has been very low maintenance and it has almost 200,000 miles and it still runs like almost new. I guess all car manufacturers have lemons. I am very sorry you happened to purchase one.

I have had my 96 Ford Taurus since I was 16; that was about 4 years ago, and then as soon as I moved out the car started to fall apart LOL. It makes a squeaky noise, when I accelerate or stop at a stop light it makes a weird noise and vibrates a little, and there are leaks from who knows where, and the car actually died on me once. The mechanic fixed it to where it was decent to drive, because that's all I could afford at the time, and told me I only need a tune up, but it's still making that vibration and noise combo, and my air conditioner is broken now but the heater works. If anyone knows what that vibration could be, please let me know...
