1993 Ford Thunderbird Sport 5.0 HO from North America

Summary:

A Thunderbird that really does fly...

Faults:

Not a thing...

General Comments:

I have a 1993 Ford Thunderbird Sport. The engine is the 5.0 HO, with an AOD trans. The car is white, with a blue interior.

I bought the car last year because my 1991 Thunderbird was starting to need work. So I bought the 1993 T Bird at used car lot. When I had purchased it, it had 197,800 miles on it.

The car still runs like new, and now has over 203,000 miles on it. The car is fully loaded (aside a sunroof), is extremely comfortable, and has a killer sound system, with ice cold A/C.

Over time, I had a new high flow exhaust installed to give the Thunderbird a nice deep tone (sounds like a 5.0 Mustang from far away), and added a K&N cold air intake.

The car is very fast, and will boil the tires on demand. A true sleeper, it is like a wolf in sheep's clothing. It could spank those lil rice burners in a heartbeat, and keep up with those 5.0 Mustangs and GM F bodys.

It is an odd Thunderbird though. Under the rear tail light, it reads "Sport". I have never seen another one like it. I have seen many LX's and SC's, but never a Sport. I know it was an option for the 1991 and 1992 Thunderbirds, but mine is a 1993 Thunderbird Sport, that is # matching, and 1993 the Sport was omitted from the options list. It has a very low VIN, too. I don't have any idea if is a rare car, or just a common 1993 Thunderbird, but I did some research, and the Sport model is not mentioned nearly as much as the LX and the SC models.

If there is anybody with any information about the Sport Model Thunderbird, please get back at me. Thanks for reading. Peace...

I Cracked the VIN on it, and after all it's a 1993 Thunderbird LX. The Sport badge was installed at the Ford Dealership. It looks cool anyways. Its still a Bad Ass 1993 Thunderbird 5.0...

I bought a used '93 t-bird sport in 1994 from a very reputable local dealer. red with black interior. never seen another like it. had the ho 5.0 motor. I don't believe this is a dealer add-on. how many other ho 5.0 t-bird's have you seen in? I wish I could find one again.

1993 Ford Thunderbird LX 3.8 232 FI from North America

Summary:

Excellent car, I'd buy another one

Faults:

Power seat belt motor died.

Head lights went out, do too recall.

Rear end clunking.

General Comments:

The car handles great for 190,000 miles.

However, I think ford service is a joke. You say recall, and the service dept. runs the other way. Other problems with ford service as well.

1993 Ford Thunderbird LX 3.8 from North America

Summary:

I think this car is the best car I have driven yet!

Faults:

I have had this car for a year and I love it the only things that have gone wrong with the car are.

1.The passenger side ball joint gave out.

2.The a/c doesn't work. It hasn't since I bought it, but I think it just needs to be recharged.

3.There is an annoying clicking on the right front side.

4.The rear differential seal is leaking.

5.The odometer stopped working at 61,000 miles so I don't know how many miles are on it.

General Comments:

The car is one of the best cars I have driven. It rides smooth, but has a stiff enough suspension to handle like a dream when going around corners at high speeds.

When you punch the gas it climbs up to speed at a good rate with is great for when you need to merging into traffic.

I have just had the engine rebuilt so the engine is very reliable.

It starts every time it never dies and I don't think it will ever die.
