1997 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8L from North America

Summary:

Amazing gas saver

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car so far... It has over 170 thousand miles and it still drives like a new car...

General Comments:

This car is amazing... I was a little skeptical at first. I mean come on, a 6'0" tall man in a GEO... But it is an amazing car...

I got lucky however, the previous owner took GREAT care of this car... I'm gonna drive this car till the doors fall off... (Hopefully that's not for a while)

1997 Geo Prizm from North America

Summary:

This car became known as "the tank"...reliable, safe, and probably one of the best cars out there!

Faults:

Rear turn signal bulb replaced.

Driver's side rear door power lock temperamental - sometimes work/sometimes not.

General Comments:

This was my first car and I absolutely loved it!

No major problems with anything on/in the car.

Comfortable interior, roomy for a mid-size car, I was able to move myself in and out of college with just this vehicle!

Handled great on snow/ice/slick conditions.

This car was amazing. I live in NW Ohio and have had to travel in pretty bad weather conditions. This car made it through them all. I was devastated when I got into an accident and my car was totalled, but even though it was hit in the front passenger side, there was minimal damage to actual engine. The interior of the car, including myself and valuable things inside my car were uninjured. Amazing automobile!

1997 Geo Prizm LS 1.6L from North America

Summary:

Must have first car!!!

Faults:

Nothing. I got this car from family when mine was broken into. It is to say the least a shocker who would think that a Geo with a 3speed auto could pull the way it dose. The only real complaint I have is when not shifting your self the 0-40 times are killer. The 1.6L can pull very hard for being 102hp between 30 and 40. The major problems that I have is that it has been in a lot of accidents by other family members and some of been very painful. Currently the Right CV Joint needs to be replaced, but other than that this car is by far the most reliable car I have ever owned. 149000 and still climing fast and runs stronger now then when I first got it. I would defiantly say this is a grate car except for the wide shoulder people this is kind of cramped.

General Comments:

Very good car for a first time driver. It's limits are decent enough that you can take left hand turns at 60 without to much of a worry rights at 37 before the tail slides along with the front. Will get you above 100mph mark and still be running smooth. Cheap car to own evan repair with forgin parts.

1997 Geo Prizm from North America

Summary:

The best car for the money!

Faults:

2 years ago the transmission went out - but was covered under warranty (barely) so it has been fixed. The rear struts went out last year, but were replaced w/o a prob. The starter went out on me, but that was easly replaced by my uncle.

I have had this car in the body shop twice since owning it. Once because someone backed into my car & the other in an accident. The car has held up very well even after 2 trips to the body shop w/o any MAJOR malfuntions.

After the accident though my dome light went ka-put. It works when it wants to now. There's a wire loose some where - but I am not overly concerned with it since I do most of my driving in the day.

My front end shakes a little when the brakes are applied so it's time to have the brakes checked out. I still need to get the timing belt changed - which is in the near future.

But over all I have loved this car. It has been very reliable. I do a lot of driving during the week, to work, from work, to the sitters, etc. I put at least 200 miles on my car in 4 days & it's held up great.

The only things I have ever had to repair/replace are:

Transmission, tail light, speakers, struts, tires, filters & the starter.

Too bad I can't get a newer model of this car when/if this one ever stops running.
