1991 Geo Storm 1.8? from North America
Summary:
This car is perfect for a college student, but ditch it before it gets too late
Faults:
The car ran excellent for the first three years I had it. Then I had two blown head gaskets in the span of five months, a leak in the radiator, and a tendency to burn oil. It also has undergone a serious loss in power.
General Comments:
A total stranger came up to me a few months ago and asked me how many miles I had on the car. When I told him nearly 100,000 he told me to get rid of it. It had run so well in the past so I didn't take his advice. I wish I had.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I bought a Geo-Storm last year with 162,000 miles on it for a meager $1200. I changed the timing belt and did some cosmetic touch up, it runs great to date and never even seems like it's going to stop. I have 175000 on it right now!

It seems that Storm owners feel that cheap cars such as their's don't need any maintenance. This is not true, I don't take excellent care of mine by any stretch of the imagination, but tune ups every now and then and changing the oil are a must! Perhaps you've kept up with this and in that case I'm at a loss, but my Storm with 133,000 miles gives me little trouble. However, that's just my experience...

I bought my Geo Storm off a friend of mine in 1998, it had some problems but I put the money and time into taking care of this car that I have turned it into a treasure. If you have had problems with yours, it seems like you haven't taken good care of it since you bought it.
My car has 130,000 miles on it and I bought it with 112,000 miles and it is still running as strong as ever and still getting the same great gas mileage it has been since it came off the show room floor. Regular maintenance and tune ups are a necessity to having a good car!!!
