I have a 1991 Geo Tracker (five speed manual transmission). I have had it for 10 years. I have 140,000 miles on it. To date, the biggest repair I have had to make was to replace the clutch last year. That is not bad. It seems this car will last forever.
I love my Tracker and will be driving it for as long as it lasts. I had to replace my soft top, because someone cut it in an attempt to burglarize the vehicle. I keep taking care of it and it keeps taking me where I want to go. As I said before, I LOVE my Tracker.

I have to say my first taste for my 94Lsi came from owning a Suzuki Samurai. To me I Think it's the ultimate ride. What else gives you fuel mileage, four wheel drive for winter and summer off road excursion's and a removable/convertible soft top. I bought my Lsi 2 years ago it had 120,000k's on it. It now has over 200,000 on it. With annual oil changes, (monthly) tune-ups, undercoating and rust-checking this sweet little ride is gonna be around for a long time. And on one other note; where as mine is an automatic I found with a taller tire your mileage is a little better for the highway.
I Love my little unit!

My tracker, Shrek, is the love of my life!! It's a hard top green beast that is ugly as any car alive, but it is 4x4 and goes anywhere, anytime I want. I also own a 03 Mustang GT, but Shrek gets driven everyday. Best car I've ever owned.

I have a 1994 and a 1996 Geo Tracker. The 94 was a bit rough when I bought it used. It has taken "quite a bit" of punishment in its day. And has always made it back under its own power. I mainly use it for fun on the weekends, running the woods and gas lines, 150,000 and still going strong.
The 96 tracker, 115,000 miles, just 1 alternator, 2 sets of brakes, 1 clutch, and I will safely say I will trust it all the way to 200,000 miles. The tiny little 1.6 liter L4 80 hp engine pulled a Ford F150 4x4 out of the mud on its own "without using 4 w drive". My buddy WILL never live that one down.
Down sides:
The plastic timing chain cover can crack, possibly allowing it to fall and cut a fan belt. This happened on the 94, but then again you don't need it anyway; just take it off, it will not cause you any problems.
When changing the oil, it is best to take off the engine protector on the bottom to get to the oil filter easier, but it is heavy and hard to put back on by yourself.
Small fuel tank, 8 gallons, but then again with the K&N air filter and Flowmaster, I'm getting about 30 mpg.
Smooth ride, will always get you to work in the snow. Take the top off in the sun and this is a great ride.
Ps. I would recommend 15 in Glasher Grip II tires.

Hello to anyone who is thinking of buying a geo tracker I would strongly suggest it. I've had my geo tracker for 10 years I got it when I was in high school (teenage years) fun. I then used it to go to school (college) and then I used it when I moved into my first house, and the it was there for when I got married and it is still going I have 270,000 kms and only had to do some minor repairs. I have put it in car shows and won. If I was ever to buy another car it would be a geo tracker reliable, fun, safe.
