2002 GMC Trailblazer LTZ from North America
Faults:
The fan clutch on my 2002 Trailblazer is so loud it sounds like a semi coming down my block. It turns all heads when they hear the huge roar it makes.
The dealer says it has tech bulletins saying don't replace it unless it has other problems. IT IS NORMAL THEY SAY!!! No way will I put up with this unbelievable roar.
In the 1980's people put up with our Big 3 saying "Buy American" or we weren't patriotic. This is another flagrant example of the reason for mistrust of the braintrust leading these companies.
Reliability ratings of Honda and Toyota are far better. Do they think we are so stupid??? Yes!
General Comments:
Good vehicle otherwise. It's a shame this design defect is treated like this.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Pull out the crankshaft mounted fan and replace it with an electric fan from an aftermarket supplier like JC Whitney. Your noise will be gone and you might save some gas too...
