1997 GMC Yukon GT 5.7L Vortex from North America

Summary:

One the best vehicles I've ever owned

Faults:

Transmission went out at 70000 miles. GM replaced with a new tranny at no cost to me, and no problems so far.

The vehicle received regular maintenance with synthetic oil and regular tire rotation.

Brakes have been replaced all around, along with serpentine belt and idler arm.

General Comments:

If GM made a two door model Yukon or an extended cab Yukon, I would buy it a minute. As it is, I bought a new 2007 GM Sierra Vortex Max. This vehicle rides like a Cadillac and will run with the best of them, while hauling my ATV in the PU bed.

1997 GMC Yukon SLT 5.7 Litre (350ci) V8 gas from North America

Summary:

Good bang for the buck for someone looking for more than just a get-around vehicle

Faults:

Transmission control body (common problem, easy repair)

Door handle broke

No other problems.

General Comments:

Nice to drive, comfortable SUV. The steering feels a little loose on the highway, but is easy to control. The suspension can be rough over large bumps, but is is designed to be used occasionally offroad. Handles well in all conditions, but does not have the ground clearance for serious offroad use. Tows heavy loads easily, and gas mileage has been decent whether towing or not as long as I refrain from heavy acceleration. I would recommend GMC models from this era, but do not like the newer models.

1997 GMC Yukon SLT 5.7L from North America

Summary:

Never again... Marketing geniuses, but awful engineers

Faults:

Fuel injector body replaced - installed wrong at dealer - had to be re-accomplished at private garage.

Engine is shot now - even with regular service and never low on oil. Told I will have to replace engine.

General Comments:

Leaks like a sieve in the right rear - I have been all through the back and cannot find source of leak. Complete lemon - I have spent more on the truck in maintenance than I did to buy it. This after taking to a reputable mechanic before purchase to check out, and told it was a good deal. Will NEVER buy a GMC/Chevy product again.

1997 GMC Yukon 2DR GT 350 5.7L from Puerto Rico

Summary:

One great reliable truck

Faults:

So far all I had to do was to rebuilt the whole front end and change the manifold for headers aside from that just normal maintenance.

General Comments:

Very good truck specially for tight little spots (2dr). I would recommend this truck to anybody.

I have had my Denali for three years, I bought it with 65,000 miles on it. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this vehicle has been. I now have 128,000 miles on it and I hope to reach 200,000. The comfort is great, we had to have the intake manifold gasket replaced at about 100,000 but that's the only major thing. We just replaced the factory shocks. When it snows heavily I don't even think twice, my truck will get me there. It's very safe and reliable, my commute to work is 75 miles a day it's so comfortable.

The Bose system is great too.

Best car I have ever owned

Faults:

Not a thing.

General Comments:

This is one of the best cars I have ever owned.

This inside of this car is very comfortable, everything is within easy reach.

If I could find another with 0 miles on it, I would buy it in a heart beat...

Hi. Bought a 1997 Yukon (4wl, 4 door, certified, 172,000km) 17 days ago in Sault Ste Marie, and after about 900km touring locally, drove it to Halifax. No problems. Oh yeah, $3400k. I am very pleased.
