2005 GMC Yukon XL 2500 LE 6.0 from North America

Summary:

Rusty but very trusty hauler!

Faults:

I bought it from a fire department. All the engine peripherals were changed out: battery, water pump, radiator, alternator, shocks and plugs/wires. Rust is horrible on these trucks, so protect the underneath as much as you can.

The 6.0 engine is great, but the trans starts to slip around 145K. Most trans are replaced by 180K.

Interior switches for the locks and windows were replaced twice.

Tires are changed out every 60K, so they are good there.

The 4x4 actuator switch went out at 100K.

General Comments:

Tough as nails truck, very comfortable. The cloth seats are really warm and soft.

The versatility of towing (my big 7000 lb. camper) and internally hauling anything you want was the best function.

Bose stereo was loud and clear!

2005 GMC Yukon Denali from North America

Summary:

Overall pleased with ride and comfort

Faults:

Water leaking through headliner.

General Comments:

Poor mileage - 12MPG or so.

Can't turn radio volume down to a very low volume. Seems to go from some sorta loud to nothing.

Good power and acceleration when needed.

Vehicle manual says no snow/traction devices are permitted apparently due to risk of interference with wheel-well, due to hoses etc. Why not design with clearances to accommodate snow-chains?

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
