2006 Holden Calais V 6.0L V8 from Australia and New Zealand

Faults:

The only thing to go wrong in 2 months of ownership has been a plastic clip on the rear parcel shelf. Only cost 60 cents, so not a major issue.

The car is still young though, and under warranty, so I will update in the future.

General Comments:

For a large car this car handles brilliantly. Huge grip from the 245 rubber. The performance is amazing from any revs, and the throttle response is crisp. Transmission gets a little jerky in first to second if I am a bit abrupt on the throttle. In the 07 cars this was fixed, as it was only a software issue.

The running costs are high, especially the fuel. I am averaging 14.5L/100km in all city driving, so is not as bad as it could be. Also I am running it on 98, so that is 10 cents a litre dearer again.

This car is the Calais V, so is equipped with everything, and is extremely comfortable. I only gave it a 7 because the Calais is now setup for sport rather than luxury, but the car has a good blend of handling prowess and comfort, but other people might prefer the Berlina, which is setup for all luxury driving.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
