Warning do not buy a Vectra. Cost too much repair and dealers don't want to touch them. I have sold my Vectra today as its going to be a massive headache with repair bills. Top Gear reviews have listed this car in the top ten of do not buy cars.

Yes, I agree with the expensive servicing! I spent $2,300 on the 120,000 major service. I was told that it had to be a genuine kit service otherwise it would have problems down the track.
I have also spent a further $700 on replacing a fuel pump - all this in one year!
I have ongoing miss-fire issues, and recently I suspect serious transmission issues which makes the car undriveable (and late for work!).
Today I have my Vectra in getting fixed - water pump and coolant issues which was apparently replaced in the major service only 4 months ago!

Hi, Just bought a JS Vectra 2.2 l. Bought it from a dealer, and three weeks later I have been advised to remove the gasket and all other cooling parts?
Anyone have any idea where to go and how to keep repairs cheap?

I have owned my Holden Vectra Equipe for 3 years now. No problems whatsoever. It is a 2001 Equipe with 109kms on it. The only thing I changed is the timing belt. :)
Fingers crossed everything goes well.

I also have a Vectra JS 2.6 V6 CD Hatch, which had an oil consumption of 2.8litres every 7682km's, this was at 2004. Holden did nothing with it and now I have a vehicle that has oil in its coolant which could be cylinder heads or head gasket or something else. The problem of oil in its coolant I believe is due to Holden not acting, because Holden is meant to replace all engines whom consume more than 2.5 litres every 10000km's.
Holden are now denying everything, I am trying to find if anyone has had the same of similar problem for me to take this to the next level, legal action against Holden. I hope I can identify others whom have had this same problems.
