1987 Honda Accord LX 2.0 4 cyl from North America
Summary:
Great car that offers fellowship opportunities with owners of other cars like it
Faults:
Compressor - A/C.
Heater weak and needs repairing.
Driver/passenger/rear door handles.
Door for the gas cap won't close.
Sun visor clip coming out.
Passenger rear view mirror shakes.
Bent antenna( fought the garage door and lost).
General Comments:
A wonderful car that despite everything that's gone wrong still runs and looks great.
Most things wrong are small and overall not that important. Paint is still glossy and minus the rear headrests (thread rotted and separated) the interior looks almost new.
It has the typical rear quarter panel rust, as well as on the trunk and around gas cap (behind the door).
Has lost some zip and does need a little more horsepower, but can still beat people at intersections. Will go fast (received speeding ticket for 19 mph over). Handles well and people comment on the smooth ride it delivers.
An all in all wonderful car that should be getting some repairative attention this summer and will ride like new afterwards.
Still better than my friend newer car whose power doors won't work, car dies (for good) etc.
Also gives sense of bonding with other Accord owners.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I purchased a 1987 Honda Accord with 266,000 miles after totaling my 2001 Ford Focus ZX3. I have probably put in $3000 into the Honda and I really do feel more confident driving it than the Ford. I recently got 37 mpg on a road trip to Mt. St Helen's. I want to get 350,000 or more out of it.
