1987 Honda Accord Prestige 2.0 SOHC 12 valve from Indonesia
General Comments:
My '87 Honda Accord Prestige is a good car. It's very old by now. However being member of Honda's medium-large sedan family, it has features that cannot be matched even by some newer cars.
The interior is spacious & doesn't look cheap at all. The suspension is comfortable & cabin noise is pretty quiet. It has indicator that can display various status, such as : which door is not closed, trunk is not closed, & broken brake-light bulb. Handling is good. It's 2.0 SOHC engine provides sufficient power for a car at it's era. It still uses carburetor, as computerized injection engine wasn't popular yet at that time. Fuel consumption is quite reasonable for its size, though cannot be considered very economical (around 8-9 km/litre). The engine's sound is very smooth if it's in good shape. I'm also satisfied with its reliability.
On the downside, it's difficult to drive in small/tight spaces. The steering radius is wide & it also has long body. The body's plate material is pretty thick (doesn't sound like tin cans), however it's prone to rust. Also like other Honda's in Indonesia, spare parts is costly.
Overall, this is an excellent car to own.
