1992 Honda Accord EX Coupe 2.2 from North America

Summary:

Honda has the best quality product on the road!

Faults:

The left front spring broke at 100,000 miles.

The CV boot ripped requiring replacement of half shaft at 120,000 miles.

A bearing went out in the distributor at 160,000 miles requiring replacement of distributor.

Turned original front rotors at 198,000 miles due to being warped.

General Comments:

This is my second Honda Accord.

I change the oil every 5,000 to 6,000 miles.

I have only had to align the car 2 times in 200,000 miles, both due to hitting objects that fell from trucks on the highway.

This car runs and rides like new even with 200,000 miles!

What are you smoking? With that many repairs at only 200k miles, how can you say this is a quality car? Ditched my Accord LX at only 120k miles and it has all your problems and then some.

To the guy who wrote the comment, I think you should ask yourself what your smoking, domestic cars don't even get half the mileage and more problems. to the owner I say change the oil more often, its better to change it around 3000 miles rather than 5 or 6000.

1992 Honda Accord LX 2.2 from North America

Summary:

A reliable car that holds its value

Faults:

The idle on the car is very rough despite an extensive tune-up. I have learned to live with it though.

A/C cuts out on long trips (more than 2 hours of constant driving). It has also started working intermittently the past couple of weeks. Although, when it does work the temperature is very cold.

Like most other Accords of this generation, the transmission shifts very rough. I used an additive and it seemed to help somewhat, but just for a few months.

The shift handle is difficult to get out or Park and into gear sometimes.

General Comments:

Other than the above comments, I have been very happy with the car.

I have changed the timing belt once and the only thing that has gone wrong that has left me stranded was the water pump going out.

The interior is in very good condition for its age and the paint has held up very well (no rust or discoloration).

1992 Honda Accord EX from North America

Summary:

The Honda Accord is an extremely reliable car

Faults:

Brake light out at 113,000 miles.

General Comments:

I think this is a great car. I was forced to buy this car after the engine in a previous, newer car blew. I was nervous about an older car (my previous car was a 1996), but I must say it is holding up great.

I cannot tell you about any previous work done on the car or problems since I bought it when it had 100,000 miles, but I haven't had a single serious problem yet.

It struggles slightly to start on really cold mornings, but in the end, it has always started, and that's what keeps me happy!

Definitely recommend Honda, and I can't wait till I have enough to buy the newer version!

1992 Honda Accord EX 2.2 FI from North America

Summary:

You pay for what you get. In Honda's Case, $$$$ = Peace of Mind

Faults:

Driver's Side Power Window: Window guides broke plus window down speed slow.

Exhaust System: Rust prone.

Power antenna: Easily damaged if not kept clean -Use a clean cloth to clean at frequent intervals, and do not raise until ice is cleared in cold weather.

Tires: Don't use cheap tires - you'll regret it.

General Comments:

This car has performed in all categories rather well. Aside from routine maintenance, and sensible driving, I have very few complaints. I once got stuck in about two feet of sand on a 105 degree muggy day in the middle of no where. I had to keep the Air Conditioning on for approx 2 hr, and the car never! overheated. This, if nothing else solidified my faith in this car. If you have a Honda, take care of it, and it will reward you in terms of dependability, and longevity.
