2004 Honda Accord Exec 2.4 na from Sweden

Summary:

The best car I have owned

Faults:

Absolutely nothing.

Keeping in mind that I am living in north of Sweden where temperatures can go below -40C.

General Comments:

After owning a BMW for the past 2 years and being let down by German quality, I decided to buy this 190bhp Honda Accord.

This is an amazing car, the best part about the buying experience is you get it in full spec unlike the German car where you can go mad deciding what options to go for.

The car is very comfortable and with just the right amount of power. It takes you from A to B fast and comfortably. Being a Honda it is very reliable. I haven't seen my dealer in a year except when I had to get the car serviced.

The car is very good looking and also the interior quality has improved 100 times over the previous generation of Accord.

If you are in a market to buy a car and are not bothered by the fact that is a FWD, then buy the new Accord and try to order with full specs.

Don't go for 17" wheels, they will ruin the comfort. If you want to, get 225/50/16 tires for the car, that's what I did!!

2004 Honda Accord 2.0 i VTEC SE Saloon 2.0 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A high quality car with long-term appeal

Faults:

No specific faults.

Car went back to dealer on safety recall for wiring to rear lights.

General Comments:

I bought this car as a demonstrator from a main dealer from a shortlist of 4 other cars.

To me, it had a better combination of driving appeal, comfort, appearance and practicality than the Skoda Octavia, Mazda 6 and Toyota Avensis.

The Accord 2.0 SE continues to drive very well and is comfortable. However, on reflection, the 17" Penta alloys are a mistake on this car... they're too firm and compromise the ride quality.

The accord has been completely reliable.

Although the boot is large, the access is small so it's tricky to fit large objects in there (e.g. prams)

2004 Honda Accord ex V6 from North America

Summary:

Overpriced rattle box

Faults:

Transmission jerks when shifting from first to second gear.

Interior rattles everywhere!

Very strong vibration when AC is on. Dealer did not know what to do. They claim it's normal.

Now there is a major transmission recall from Honda. Dealer would not offer a loaner.

General Comments:

Poorly built car overall.

Why does family sedan have sport tuned suspension? It's way too stiff! It also contributes to numerous interior rattles.

I totally agree with your views. I bought 2005 Honda and right from the day I took it out of dealership I hear buzzing sound from the passenger side of the vehicle. I took it back to the dealership and they say it is quite normal. Really it is overpriced car, I should have bought Hyundai instead.

2004 Honda Accord 2.2iCDTi Executive 2.2 diesel from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Comfortable and well engineered, but let down by lack of attention to minor detail

Faults:

No specific faults.

General Comments:

The steering is very lively on certain road surfaces. The car is fitted with the optional 17" low profile alloys.

There are rattles from the passenger side of the car - very annoying, especially at low speeds.

For the money, this car should have electric fold-in door mirrors and memory settings for the driver's seat (my 406 had both).

The sat. nav. system is brilliant.

2004 Honda Accord EX 2.4 i VTEC from North America

Summary:

Big bangs of value under 30 grand canadian dollars

Faults:

The driver leather seat always go a little bit side way when the car is under a fast cornering.

You can feel a noticeable vibration when the air conditional system kicks in.

A noticeable and irritating wind noise is created when the sun roof is tilted or halfly opened when the car is over 75km/h.

The front brake pads worn out very fast and create lots of brake dust like a racing sport car and hard to clean.

The power windows generate lots of noise and I think this is the common problem that all of the Honda owners have to suffer.

Uneven worn out of the rear tires and better to do the tire rotation service more frequently.

Intelligent 5 speed automatic transmission, but without the overdrive off button for quick downshifting.

Noise from the brakes after the car is cold started and drived within the first few minutes.

General Comments:

Superb engine with an excellent balance of performance, fuel economy, and emission standards.

Rock solid and sophisticated engine technology of Honda. Best four cylinder engine ever in this class. Very broad power band covers the low end and high end outputs.

Extremely low end torque. 1600rpm for 100km/h traveling and 3000rpm for 160km/h traveling in fifth gear position. Outstanding highway fuel economy.

Sophisticated knock sensor and the engine can burns 87 octane fuel. Save you money without losing the smoothness and power of the engine.

Best of the best ergonomic design, tons of room, tons of cup holders, big trunk.

Great handling and good cornering like a sports car with the bulky size unit body and comfortable suspension set up.

High efficient auto climatic control air conditional system.

Supportive leather heated seats with fantastic two tone color matching cabin.

Premium audio system with low noise working level.

Good steering with perfect alignment.
