2005 Honda Accord LX from North America

Summary:

I would definitely recommend to friends/family

Faults:

Pretty much nothing. Everything's in great shape, except my daughter backed into a pole. The engine is still running great, there are no problems mechanically.

General Comments:

This car has great gas mileage

Handles great

Brakes are a little touchy, it's something you have to get used to, but not bad

Very, very spacious

Took it in for a complete tune-up and they told me the engine was in great condition, and it was a car they recommend to people looking for a reliable, affordable, family car

Retains it's re-sell value

Great purchase for a college student, too, I'm even looking at one for my daughter.

It even has these hooks on the floor, so the mats don't ride up or slip around. How handy!

2005 Honda Accord Hybrid 3.0 Liter from North America

Summary:

This car has truly exceeded my expectation in performance, economy, and reliability

Faults:

I've only taken this car to the dealer once just to tighten a bolt on the steering wheel column.

General Comments:

This car is an excellent choice for consumers who are not willing to give up size and performance in place of economy.

I have 79,000 trouble free and dealer free miles on the car right now.

Gas mileage averages for city (between 28 and 32) and highway (between 36 and 42) driving are around 32 mpg if you drive this car like a hybrid and not like Speed Racer.

The cabin is comfortable and quiet as long as you have good tire treading. However, when treading is low, there is a slight roaring noise (to people with sensitive hearing) which can be heard inside the cabin.

The navigation system is excellent and is very user friendly.

The sound system could use better speakers; I would rate the sound system below average.

This car is great for long distance driving. I've driven around 530 miles on one tank and had enough gas left over to safely make it to a gas station 50 miles away. My trip to Detroit from Atlanta averaged 39 mpg which was excellent.

2005 Honda Accord executive 2.2 turbo diesel from Belgium

Summary:

Excellent alternative for a mondeo or mazda 6

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The diesel engine is perfect for a long commute, very strong but not obtrusive. It is fast and handles very well, I have optional 17 inch sport wheels and sport suspension. It would ride a bit quieter without these, but that's the way I like it. Very well sorted car. It looks really good too.

2005 Honda Accord Economy 2.4 from North America

Summary:

Best bet for the money

Faults:

The car is generally a very good car, but I could not believe when I had my left front bearing failed at 3200 miles. Dealer was very nice and replaced both front bearings, but this leaves me with a question abou quality of this car. I hope this was on of those where only the bearings were messed up when manufactured. Other than that there were no problems with this car.

General Comments:

Very good car for the money. I paid $ 15,700 for a new one in august of 2005 in Schaumburg, IL.

The price you paid for a car is amazing, people are beginning to forget that humans make these car parts and we all know the type of mistakes humans make. Surely you had an issue with the bearings, however Honda replaced it and in most cases Honda parts do last. And yes I know in some cases the quality has fallen, however the prices for the replacements parts (aftermarket or OEM) are fairly reasonable.

2005 Honda Accord LX 3.0L V6 from North America

Summary:

Feeling good, but not with less worry

Faults:

Steering wheel rotates more on the anticlockwise direction than that of clockwise direction. These days I am hearing a wired noise. The noise is like piston slap (mechanical, something like loose bolts). It only happens between a very specific speed range and RPM. I have notice it happens when accelerating a in a slope (not steep), at 3rd gear, around <2000rpm and at the vehicle speed of ~ 40-45mph. I feel that this is dependent on the torques on the wheels at that particular condition. Is anybody having such problems?

General Comments:

Otherwise it is good.
