2010 Honda Accord EX L Coupe 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

Reliable sporty commuter

Faults:

This car is my city car, it seldom goes on the highway and only for day trips. The car has had regular servicing according to the owner's manual, I do my own oil changes since the car has come off warranty. Nothing has broken or been replaced on the car in 5 years.

The car has a well documented problem with 3rd gear popouts on the 6 speed manual transmissions for 8th generation. This has happened twice to me, though every few months a shift gets missed when the gearshift will not go into 3rd on first try.

You cannot ask for better reliability than zero fixes.

General Comments:

The engine is powerful and pulls well from low RPM, listed at 270 HP. Since new, the car has averaged 7.3 l/100km (regular gas) for city driving which I consider outstanding.

TPMS cannot be cancelled, with a second set of winter rims, I live without the traction control since a reset of the sensors has to be done by a dealer for $90 on each changeover. Road noise is high, regardless of tires used.

The Coupe suspension is harsh even without the factory high performance kit.

Navigation maps are out of date from day 1, but I have not replaced.

Stereo is upgraded but average for fidelity.

With the folding rear seats, the trunk is plenty big enough for groceries and suitcases. Rear seats would not be usable for long trips, front seats and center console are leather and show limited wear.

2010 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

Fast semi luxury coupe and reliable

Faults:

Passenger visor has come a bit loose.

Weird clunk noise front passenger wheel when pulling up to a stop and in parking lots. Loose strut bolt/nut? It only does it in the summer???

Console light illumination does not work behind the on/off A/C buttons. Fuse?

Passenger seat heater LED turns on and off when in use.

Nothing major really has gone wrong with the car. Just the minor things I've failed to fix.

This isn't something that's gone wrong, it's just part of Hondas, but road noise is a bit loud.

One thing that really irritates me is when I use my iPhone to listen to music, if I turn it up to loud, the stereo redirects the music from up front to the back. I can't for the life of me figure out if this is normal or faulty. So I don't listen to loud music. Good I guess...

General Comments:

The car when driven normal, it performs normally, albeit with one powerful engine. This thing flies for a front wheel drive sedan based car. The automatic tranny performs perfectly. I wouldn't recommend trying to drive it like a sports car, it isn't made for that sort of thing. Straight line driving is where this car works best.

I wish it had perforated leather seats. Here in the Central Valley in California, the hot summers make the black leather unbearable. I like the looks and it stays mostly off the radar. I usually get 22/29 MPG city and highway.

The car has 83.5K miles and drives like a dream.

That summer clunk goes away as usual in the winter ... Haven't figured it out.

Stereo still cuts out when blasted.... Don't blast any more.

New tires are a dream. Just fitted new tires and I'm so happy! No wheel spin or out of control!!! Nexen Premiere Korean tires are a steal! 4 for $380 out the door is a steal!

Still is as fast and peppy as usual. Not looking forward to the close timing belt replacement... Tranny can be clunky due to its non planetary gear set type of build. But most of the time it works like it should.

I still love my coupe and V6 + Auto. Premium gas is a must. Still haven't ever used the navigation after over two years. The maps I like.

Minor issues like creaks and overhead lamps not working properly... nothing to bash.
