Absolutely positively 100% correct!!! As long as the fuel/air mixture stays close to stoichiometric (SP), the cats will last the life of the car. Period. End of story.

Unless you ignore an O2 sensor light that's on; that can plug a cat and also it can decrease gas mileage. In our state it will also fail inspection.

When it comes to various maintenance issues, it is never one cure all, end of story. My family has owned an auto repair shop for many years, and have learned to be open minded. Especially with late model cars.

Cats can fail in certain ice and snow conditions when they are very hot. They can crack.

I personally wonder who are these people coming here and writing reviews saying they only had a CD player problem in 150000 miles? Who are these people? Of course, anyone can say anything on the Web - who will ever verify the information? I guess many of these people bragging about their miraculous cars, never actually even owned one. Perhaps they aren't even adults, surely some kids bragging around about their parents' car. Or perhaps just children dreaming about some car. This is Internet for you. Sometimes it brings you back to the school days when everyone was bragging about this or that about their family.

Maybe they were too shy to report issues. Or they overspent on a car and feel embarrassed or ashamed of their poor financial outlay.
