This is a great car, well actually great is an understatement, this car is superb!! I could go on for ages about this car. It's really comfortable, and it has kind of bucket seats that are standard, and it's really is relaxing, It's a smooth ride, don't feel many bumps, very nice.
The performance is very impressive. I take my car quite often down to this back road I know, and I do my 0-60 and I've had really good times.
The worst time I got 0-60 was 9.2 seconds, but that was because I wheel spun too much, hehe, but then when I didn't wheel spin too much, I got 8.7
0-60.
Recently, I got a Quad exhaust system, which is four 3 inch pipes out the back, to fit this you have to remove the middle backbox!
Anyway, as you can imagine, no back box, which means it's mighty loud, and has produced more Brake Horse Power to over 100bhp from 90bhp, and the 0-60 of average about 8.3seconds, and if you're really quick with the take off, you can get about 8 seconds out of it.
I have also added an extension to my air filter, which gets more air into the engine quicker, this has also boosted my BHP. When it comes to top speed, it says 106mph in the book, but I got 118mph and I reckon I could get 120mph. I've revved my car up to 8000rpm fine! No problems and it burns rubber, trust me.
This Honda Civic GL, would give a Golf GTi a good run for its money, a Suzuki Swift GTi and a Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi. I've left XR2's, VTR's, XR3's, SR, SRi, GTE Nova's etc, see what I'm saying, this car is WICKED!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT ONE, BUY IT NOW!.
The Honda Civic 1.4 16v dual carb, twin cam, is very fast, quick off the mark, and will make you feel really happy, when you leave people at the lights!!!

My boyfriend has a '90 civic DX, and I don't know if it was because the previous owner ran it into the ground, or what, but a right good number of things went wrong with it..
The driver's side CV axle boot tore and the axle itself made a HORRIBLE popping noise whenever the car turned. Replaced and its fine, but we think the other side is going bad now.
The thermostat was sticking, and it caused the car to overheat when the air conditioner was turned on, and when high speeds were maintained for a long time. Replaced that, and it hasn't done it since.
The major problem, which we have yet to fix, would be the oil rings on the pistons. They stick, causing oil to remain in the cylinders or whatever, and it burns so much oil that he's putting a quart in every week just to keep the levels normal.
The fastest we've gotten it was about 103 on the highway, but this was before we replaced the thermostat and we were forced to stop because the engine temp gauge went from cold to WAY TOO HOT in about 3 seconds. Maybe we'll try again now. ;)
Over all, I think it's a cute car minus the few problems it has, but that's to be expected from a car that's like, 14 years old. It's got a cute shape to it and killer handling, just drop a B16 integra engine into it and it'd do some major speeds :) I'd buy one myself if I wasn't completely in love with del Sol's :)
