2001 Honda Civic LX 1.7L from North America
Summary:
Another defective first generation vehicle
Faults:
The transmission failed completely and without warning at 118,000 miles. This occurrence is a market-wide problem for 2001 Hondas. The company is doing little to relieve the $2000 cost to me to repair the problem that is arguably a manufacturing defect.
Cloth headliner in interior cab has detached from roof.
Headlamps fog easily.
Paint is prone to scratches and dents from minute sources.
General Comments:
Overall, the car has been reliable and cheap to maintain. The transmission, however, should have lasted at least until 150,000 miles.
