I only buy japanese cars. My Toyota Tercel I bought it used 3 years ago and it always starts. 30K miles with no extra cost... only fuel and oil changes!!!

Every car maker can make a lemon and you may have bought one. I have a 93 Del Sol Si and I love it. No problems ever, but I take good care of it. Mobil 1 every 3k and Pro Long every other change. Where can you find a better car that can get 40 plus mpg on the interstate and 32 in the city that's as much fun to drive.

The person who says American made cars are reliable, is he who has not owned a Honda, Subaru, or Toyota. (my #1,3 picks on most reliable car makers, God only knows how many of these cars are out there still running with over 300,000 miles on them and still not using a drop of oil!!!)
I've owned a Dodge, Chevy, and Ford. I got my del Sol and was kinda scared. It had 170,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2000. It is 7 years later and I will never own an American car again. Having my Honda with 265,000 miles on it now. I have spent around $200.00 on this car since owned.
I just want to say a kind word of advice. If you own an American car; give a hoot, don't pollute, recycle!!

I've had my del Sol for a year now, and with 180,000 miles I've never had a problem.
Yeah the roof leaks a little. But only in a monsoon or a carwash.
And any car will last you forever if you take care of everything like clockwork.
A Chevy blazer?
I guess it could last a long time.
So can a Honda.
IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT.

Bought the first Del sol sold in my area in 1993...absolutely love it. Have had a few minor wear and tear issues like any car..178,000 miles, first brake job at 90,000 and only replaced the clutch at 130,000 due to a mechanic that put the the wrong transmission oil in it and burned it up.. after replacement not a single problem... maintain it and it will take care of you.. I don't know what to do once it wears out... but I hope that is a long long time... Fun-est car...I love it... I do agree that the red color has gotten me in trouble with the cops but then again... it does fly on the open road... Highly recommend...sorry for your trouble with yours... and hope you don't discount it for someones neglect...

Hey ya, I've got a 97 del Sol too, and it has 155k on it and it runs fine. I don't drive it in winter though :P
My dad has a 91 Accord EX-R, just over 400k, mostly highway km, but still the suspension is starting to go and a lot of work needs to be done, but it still travels just over 100km almost everyday, and I have a 95 Civic that has 286K, just replaced suspension and exhaust, and it starts on coldest of mornings without block heater... and it gets to like -38 -40ish where I live.

I've had my del sol for 10 years.. best thing I ever bought. This guy must have done something wrong to his car or it was abused by a previous owner. Too bad he can't appreciate the car for what it is.
