2010 Honda Element EX 4 cylinder from North America
Summary:
Unique gem of a car with some minor faults
Faults:
None.
General Comments:
I loved this car. I had to trade it in because I had a baby and we needed more cargo room. Climbing in and out of the back seat to put a child in the car seat got old very fast, as well as being blocked in or out when parking at a store because of the suicide doors. I loved the features and the standard all weather flooring. Gas mileage should have been better for the engine and size of the car.
LOVED having a tailgate. The seats might be uncomfortable to some, but not really to me. I loved the fact that the material repelled liquid.
The cargo area of the car would be scratched incredibly easy, and by the time we turned it in, looked pretty bad back there.
I think initially when bought new, that the cars were overpriced and depreciated awful compared to other Honda models. I ended up trading in for a Pilot with more features that cost less now, versus what this cost me in 2010, and I had to do without many features that are now standard. My new car also has better gas mileage and was much larger, but that could be due to new engine technology.
What was lacking: option for a sun roof, manual shifting into 4WD, standard backup camera. I will miss my Element, but for a growing family we couldn't keep it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
