Faults:

The clutch went out at almost as soon as I bought it, thanks to some mice.

Hoses need to be replaced, and other routine maintenance issues.

General Comments:

You have no idea how much fun you can have with this car. It just sticks to the road, no matter how fast you are going. The 4-wheel steering system is amazing. I have never had a car that could corner like this car can. It's fairly kind on gas, which is very good for those of us working on a limited budget. It shows every sign of Honda's signature craftsmanship. This car will last you forever if you take care of it. It currently has 166000 miles on it and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a reliable car with some get-up-an-go for very little dough (I bought mine for under $2000). Awesome car, period.

Faults:

I replaced the whole engine at 141,000 because it spun a rod bearing.

I replaced the timing belt and water pump on the new engine we put in, along with new cam seals.

The fuel filter got nasty and it was replaced at 143,000 miles.

General Comments:

This car handles great and is very fun to drive.

The 4 wheel steering system is great, it maneuvers great at slow and fast speeds.

The aerodynamics are awesome and the whole car in general is fast and sporty.

It has a Sport shift transmission that is a riot to play with.

I have lowered it 1.5" and I have added a custom 2.5" exhaust system which makes it like a little race car.

Faults:

I did not pay a dime for the car, it was a gift from a family member. Above all, the total cost needed for repairs were worth it in the long run.

Replaced the power-steering pressure hose 194,000 miles.

Replaced both axles and CV joints 199,000 miles.

Replaced the alternator at 201,000 miles.

Starter went around the same time and two times after that. (Clutch dust)

Replaced the rear upper control arms 216,000 miles.

Clutch went at 218,000 miles.

Brake lines 217,000 miles.

Timing belt broke resulting in bent valves 220098 miles.

New Motor to be put in.

Most annoying of all... I have a bad ground somewhere in the computer resulting in many problems with the electrical system in the dashboard (I.E. temp. gauge and fuel gauge)

General Comments:

This car will definitely be the one I will always remember. Its sleek design, outstanding performance, and dominating handling outweigh even some of the newer cars!

The car is fun to drive, and is a good choice for a starter car. The car has 220,000 miles on it, and I still would like to keep it longer.

The inside of the car is unique, and very eye grabbing. The overall appearance of the Prelude is definitley one of a kind.

Faults:

Axel boots needed replacing at 120,000.

Slight fading of passenger side bucket seat from sun exposure.

Needed to replace muffler at 130,000.

Indicator light on one of the air flow buttons has burned out.

Antennae motor burned out, but I found another antennae at a junk yard for a reasonable price.

Paint on the body, and the front and rear bumpers no longer match due to slight oxidation (the bumpers appear to be darker in color.) A good paint job will remedy this.

General Comments:

I love this car! It's fun to drive, handles great, turns on a dime, and gets excellent gas mileage!

It has a classic look that gets noticed.

I have appropriately named my car, "Sporty" for the above reasons, plus it makes me feel like a teenager again (I just turned 44!).
