I have a 1990 SI ALB - Frost White, which I've had for 3 years now.
The 2.1 liter motor is notorious for burning oil - probably due to worn piston rings. A new motor should take care of things - unless it was a new used motor, then things might not change at all.

I just got a 1990 Honda Prelude Si, and I don't know why the battery and anti lock lights are coming on. I would like to know if you guys could help me with this? What do I need to do? I tried to disconnected the battery to reset it, but it's still on. E-mail me back if you guys know anything about this situation. E-mail address www.hmongolia@yahoo.com.

The "Honda Prelude SR" is a Canadian model, and only Canadian.
If you are experiencing burning oil, it is possible that you have a B21A1 engine. This "B21A1" mark, or engine identifier, is located on the block in the same area as the timing light window. The B21A1 engine was an experimental engine from Honda that included FRM (fibre reinforced metallic) sleeves that chewed up the piston rings if you didn't do the oil changes every 3,000 kms to 4,000 kms, and it wasn't getting enough oil between the #1 and #2 crank bearings on the crankshaft, which could cause it shatter inside your block from wear and tear. The B-series engines from Honda were known to do this, and this is why this engine only lasted 3 years of productivity before going to the H-series (found in Preludes from 1992-01).
Before you buy a 3rd generation Prelude (1988-91), make sure you know the service history. Test drive it and listen closely to the engine.
Best of luck with your Prelude.

Hey Guys. I'm recently looking for a used Prelude Si. This car is a good buy for a teenager looking for a used car. As for the ALB, it stands for Anti Lock Brakes. PEACE.
