2006 Honda Ridgeline RTS 3.5 from North America

Summary:

Love it. Wish I had this new in 2006

Faults:

Not much has gone wrong with this truck.

One problem with the seal on the rear sliding glass. Dealer fixed.

All is well.

General Comments:

Great ride. Smooth handling. Does what I ask of it.

Great towing as long as the weight on the tongue of the trailer does not exceed the manufacturer's recommended capacity.

2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL 3.5L from North America

Summary:

The truck of my dreams!

Faults:

Nothing really has gone "wrong" with my truck. I absolutely love it! I will always own a Honda Ridgeline. Seriously! It drives like a dream! It is so functional, flexible, fuel efficient (for a truck), and comfortable.

General Comments:

I love this truck, because first of all, it is a Honda, so it will last forever.

Second, it is very roomy.

Third, it gets the best gas mileage of a truck.

Next, it is the first truck to ever earn a 5 star crash test safety rating.

Next, it is the first truck to have 4 wheel independent suspension since the Hummer H1.

Next, the in-bed trunk can hold everything I throw at it.

I can't say enough or remember everything to mention.

2006 Honda Ridgeline RT 6 cylinder from North America

Summary:

On a 1-10 a lowly 3

General Comments:

The interior of this car/truck is a design disaster. Just enough space between the seats and the center console exists for a catch all and retrieve nothing space. About 3/8th inch and no room to fetch fallen objects. The console itself is too short. In order to use it as a platform either to write on or use to set something on you almost have to reach behind you to access the top portion of center console. Actually no flat tray on top to hold any objects. More poor design.

No compass in the coach and no auto-off lights. Hey guys this is 2006. The plastic material used to cover console and dash is not only unsightly, but its durability and ability to be cleaned leave a lot to be desired.

My biggest complaint is the MPG. I have never gotten more than 13 miles per gallon even when calculated with exclusive highway miles. 13 MPG on this 6 cylinder car/truck. That's a far cry from 17/22 or 16/21 estimated for the 07' model.

This a is still one ugly vehicle that needs to be redesigned.

In defense of Honda the Ridgeline does ride smoothly and does possess some nice features. In bed trunk and duel tailgate. These would be the only positive features about this vehicle that I have observed.

Good grief! You went from a Chevy, a true truck, to a Honda? Well, that's what you get, I suppose.

I don't even consider the Ridgeline a truck. You know why? because in stock trim, it's powered by a four-cylinder and is front wheel drive. FRONT WHEEL DRIVE! It's not a truck, it's a minivan with a bed!

It's a shame that it won Motor Trend's Truck of the Year in 2005. The only reason for this is because of its "innovation", which happened to be one idea that made it even less of a truck... and in bed trunk. Shameful. Makes me think a lot less of motor trend when there are more deserving trucks - as in all trucks - out there, like the Ford F-150, which won in 2004, and the Nissan Titan.

2006 Honda Ridgeline RTS 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

The new direction for pickup trucks, the domestics have a lot to live up to

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

As a previous Accord V6 and Pilot owner I was a little worried about acceleration, and in town it does feel a little laborious unless you keep it in D3 or lower.

In the mountains and on dirt trails it is far superior to the pilot and any other 4WD I have owned, though I wouldn't want to take it off road.

On twisty roads it handles more like a sedan than any truck. Lots of passenger room and the in bed trunk is a marvelous feature.

I don’t think this vehicle competes with “real” pick-ups. How many sheets of plywood can it carry? How about bales of hay or maybe a motorcycle?

Yeah, that "bed trunk" is a marvelous idea at first, but not so well thought out. It holds the spare tire.

So, what happens if you have a load of something in the bed and get a flat?

2006 Honda Ridgeline V6 from North America

Summary:

The best I have owned

Faults:

None, but it is only a month old.

General Comments:

I drove almost every other truck out there. The Ridgeline has more features and more room. The ride is the best part about this truck. I knew the truck would be in my driveway once I finished my test drive.

If you are looking for a truck and do not do hardcore offroading, give this thing a long look.

I've had mine for about 3 months. Its got around 10k on it and its starting to rattle. When I turn left I hear a grinding noise or it sounds like the power steering is going bad.

Yea, don't take it offroad. Other than that I like it.

I looked at one of these yesterday the first vehicle I would ever seriously trade in my Acura TL type S for. I went straight to it in the showroom. Please keep posting updates as you accumulate more mileage. I am hesitant on any first year model, but I definitely want one!
