2001 Hyundai Accent GL 1.6 from North America
Summary:
Elegant car at a fraction of the price
Faults:
Nothing (just bought it)!
BUT, why is it that the Accent GL automatically comes with power mirrors, locks, and windows when you purchase one with an Automatic Transmission, but no FLOORMATS? Who sells cars without floor-mats in this millennium?
General Comments:
My first car was a 1993 Hyundai Excel, which I replaced with a 1999 Accent. I have loved the Hyundai products from the start - affordable, reliable and economical. My mother had two Excels and currently has a 96 Accent, my father had a Pony and my sister had a Sonata.
2001 has the new 1.6 engine with 106 horsepower - it is quick compared to my 1999 model, which was my only real concern with it. Love the colour, too (brand new Sand/Gold metallic).
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Up to 20,000 miles now. NO MAJOR (or minor) problems.. Just did a few oil changes (as recomended in the car guide) and things are fine.,. Some the gas miles per gallon has gone down a little bit (before at 300 miles on one tank vs now 250miles).. That or I drive like I'm in the indy 500 now.
