1998 Hyundai Elantra Station Wagon 1.8 16V DOC from North America
Summary:
A great little runabout, solid and reliable
Faults:
Faulty coolant temperature sensor, causing a high idle, finally fixed by the dealer after three attempts.
Faulty spark plug wires, causing a slight misfire, replaced by the dealer.
All work was done under warranty.
General Comments:
Build quality as good as any of the Japanese auto makers.
The engine loves to rev and makes good power above 3K.
Cheesy cup holders and uncomfortable seats.
It's been a great little runabout, solid and reliable, but the dealer service in my part of the world leaves much to be desired. I'm only grateful I didn't need them for any major repairs.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I agree on the warranty 100%. We had to pay extra for it, and it still doesn't cover much. The reason we BOUGHT the car in the first place was the warranty, and none of our problems have been covered.
Also, the passenger side window doesn't roll up properly, and the driver's side door handle (inside) broke. I love rolling down the window to open my door. No better way to impress friends.
