2004 Hyundai Matrix GLA 1.6 GLA from Malaysia

Summary:

Great car for the price you pay

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Car handling is great.

Acceleration is not bad, considering is a 1.6.

Suspension is very good, making the ride very comfortable.

Factory installed tire is very quiet and stable. Sound system is excellent! Cabin Soundproof is very good.

The car is very very roomy, seats are very comfortable.

I am really satisfied with this car's performance, and of course the price.

2004 Hyundai Matrix GLS 1.6 from Singapore

Faults:

15" spare tyre cannot fit in the spare tyre compartment. Have to make do with the stock rims and tyre as a spare.

General Comments:

Car handles great. Probably because of the weight. Doors shut with a nice thud like continental cars. If you are looking for a budget car with nice build, then this is it.

Many others have complained about the fuel consumption, but I guess it depends on how light/heavy footed you are. I am still running in the engine so can't really say how bad it is yet.

I love the seats as the view is great! Just like other MPV's or SUV's. But you don't need to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Steering isn't too light unlike some other Japanese cars that I have driven.

Goes well around bends without understeering.

Cabin soundproofing is average as the engine can give a little growl if you floor it.

Stock cd player is average. Not very musical unless you turn it on loud.

Interior trimmings are good considering the amount you are paying (leather seats, steering wheel, woodlike finishings on console and doors).

Many others have disliked the centre placed dials, but I guess that's their opinion. I personally feel that it is well placed.

I would have preferred if they added a second arm rest for the front passenger.

And made the one for the driver broader.

Overall it's a great car and I can't wait to take it for a long long drive.

2004 Hyundai Matrix GLS 1.6 Gas from Philippines

Summary:

Value for money

Faults:

Nothing wrong has happened since I got the car.

General Comments:

Looks small, but it seats 5 adults with any problems.

With the boot cover removed, we have space for the dog as well.

Fuel consumption isn't bad, I average 11-12kms/liter. Better than 8 on my Nissan (1.6 Auto).

Lots of room!

Good small van, but horrendous city driving mileage if you bought the 1600 automatic model. Had it for a year and nothing has gone wrong except the original Korean-made battery went dead after 8 months, but dealer replaced it without question. I wonder what model gives the claimed 11-12 kilometers per liter mileage and under what conditions.

2004 Hyundai Matrix GLS 1.6 from Qatar

Summary:

Excellent family vehicle

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Handles extremely well.

Good fuel consumption.

Very comfortable front seats and the kids like the foldaway tray tables in the back. Plenty of interior space.

Good European exterior styling spoiled slightly by the 'non-Italian' dashboard layout. Good build quality with many useful interior extras.
