2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0 turbo from North America
Summary:
Very comfortable for highway driving, but never again
Faults:
Engine blown at 70000 km while on vacation. Hyundai dealer (Las Vegas) replaced under warranty. Hyundai Canada was terrible to deal with, but Hyundai in the US seemed to be good.
Several times there is oil under the car after an oil change; it gets caught up on skid pan; my mechanic explained this is common on a lot of cars, especially Hyundai; the access hole is too small.
General Comments:
The car is comfortable and has good amenities, but engine problems and engine fires are becoming common. Hyundai Canada will never see me again because of the difficulties in dealing with them.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Hyundai is having big issues with their engines after 2015. It seems long term reliability is taking a hit. An example on the 2.4 engine https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/engine-oil-consumption-2021.677719/

Be aware, big recall on all 2.0 2.0T and 2.4 engines for all Hyundai vehicles from 2011-2019.
