1970 IHC 800A A 304 V8 from North America

Summary:

Solid fun truck, worth the effort

Faults:

After buying it I had to change:

Spring bushings: Old ones were completely shot and made for a very noisy unstable ride. Much better now.

Radiator. Patched it first, but had to change it in the end.

Swapped in a running 304 to replace the original, which the previous owner had taken apart.

Carburetor. Runs much better with a rebuilt carburator.

Had to bolt the top down properly, much quieter now.

Pinion seal was also changed.

General Comments:

Great truck. Fun to dive.

Could do with a power steering upgrade as the original manual steering is exciting until you get use to it.

Also a Dana 44 with disk brakes up front would be worth doing, other than that these trucks are ready to go wherever you want to.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
