1994 Infiniti G20 2.0 from North America
Summary:
Reliable, quick, Nissan products FTW
Faults:
Needed EGR valve replaced, needed knock sensor replaced, needed fuel pump replaced at 170,000.
General Comments:
Bought the car not running. Had been sitting for years. Since I am a mechanic, and knew of Nissan's good track record, I bought this Infiniti.
Are parts a little more expensive? Yes.
Is it hard to work on? Yes.
Is it reliable? Yes.
I own a five speed, and rag on it like you wouldn't believe; redline everyday, banging gears everyday with 175,000, stock motor, stock trans.
These cars are quick and can take a serious beating.
Recently swapped the engine for an sr20ve. Now it's even quicker.
The cool thing was the motor I pulled still had good compression and lots of life left; 300,000 would not surprise me at all.
Bottom line is you pay a little more, but it's worth it in the long run for sure.
Also feels a lot more solid than my 1998 Civic EX, and that's a good car as well, just not quite as good or as fun as my beloved G20!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
