Love at first sight for its spacious and generous compartment. Really worth to buy and value for money. The handling is quite amazing.

2004 Inokom Matrix GLM 1.6 DOHC from Malaysia

Summary:

Great car for sedate / relaxed driving

Faults:

Cracked paintwork at corner of right rear light cluster (10,000km). Repaired under warranty.

Noise emitted by steering (15,000 km). Traced to faulty steering rack. Replaced under warranty.

Rusty exhaust box after 8 months (30,000 km). Long wait for parts, but eventually repaired under warranty.

General Comments:

A major plus point is the space. There are loads of it with many nook and crannies for storage.

The car handles decently and very comfortable. It is by no means a racer, nor was it ever meant to be.

Performance wise, a 1.6 engine tends to be a bit sluggish for a 1.5 ton car. The 1.8 would be better for want of a manual transmission.

Fuel consumption is greatly affected by traffic condition. more suited to rural rather than urban setting.

The faults that have developed were quite quickly attended to by the service dealers, with exception of the exhaust box, which required an email to the principal franchise holder. Found out these faults were quite common ones affecting the Matrix.

2006 Inokom Matrix 1.6 from Malaysia

Faults:

The day I collected my 2006 BRAND NEW INOKOM MATRIX 1.6, the radio and internal lights were not working. Instead of having the car fixed before handing it to me, I had to take it to the service centre TWICE to get the SAME problem fixed.

The next day, central locking was not working, had to drive back to the centre again.

Requested to leave the car for the service centre to do full QC check, but service centre rejected it saying “nothing to check.”

Two days later, the brake lights couldn't go off, and again, had to get it fixed.

General Comments:

Does INOKOM not do any QC test before the car is taken out?

Usually QC problems are due to human errors -meaning there is QC check, but that particular inspector who check the work is not doing the work correctly. It also mean other matrixs may not have the same set of problems.The car company should fix all these without cost and send a big apology to the buyer-this is just basic customer service courtesy
