2002 Isuzu Rodeo LX from North America
Summary:
Great, but risky
Faults:
On-going Transmission Problems; I purchased it with a just installed rebuilt transmission. All was fine for 13 months. It then began jerking/shifting hard after highway driving after approx 1 hour. Tranny shop found no major issues.. I had minor tranny maintenance/adjustments made. After much internet research I decided to have the inhibitor switch replaced. I did... then took the vehicle on a road trip last week. All was perfect for 6.5 hours of driving. (this was abnormal... it would usually start jerking after 1 hour) The 2nd day of our road trip, it jerked Extremely hard (like it never had before) after 2 hours of driving. So I am at a loss to what is happening... and what to do with this vehicle. Any suggestions?
General Comments:
I really like this vehicle... affordable SUV with the perks of a more expensive SUV... however I don't like the unreliability and the mystery of the transmission problems. (it also has a shimmy at 65 that won't' go away... but I can live with that)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Hey I had the same problem, it is because your gas cap is not closed correctly or all the way. You must turn it off put the cap off then on, it should have three clicks. then turn it back on and after about 2-5 miles the ABS lite turns off. I'm not sure about the gas guzzling part, it is an SUV. I got what I expected, have had no problems. A great warranty and auto service.
