1993 Jaguar Vanden Plas XJ6 4.0 from North America
Summary:
Stay away from this brand
Faults:
I have replace parts equivalent to 1.2 times the cost of the car. Everything from driver's door handle ($500), cracked headlight assembly ($550), both heater fans ($900), trunk (boot) lock ($500), miscellaneous other parts for $1,500. There are an additional $7,000 of repairs the dealer inspection has identified.
It left me on the side of the road, and been towed, several times.
General Comments:
In short, this Jaguar has been in the shop about half as many times as I have driven it. This brand sells parts for 3 to 4 times the cost of any other car company. Labor at the dealer is $160! The cars were engineered by high school drop outs.
Tomorrow the tow truck comes and hauls it away. It is going to the junk yard. I am a sucker for having bought a piece of trash like a Jaguar. Friends told me it would be this way, yet I heard Jaguar had turned the corner in the years before this was made.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
