2005 Jaguar X-Type X Type 3.0L Gasoline from North America

Summary:

Great car, be the envy of other motorists!

Faults:

No problems to report.

General Comments:

After owning the car for one year we are still as enthused as when we first drove it.

Interior comfort in the extremes of both winter and summer is first class.

I have had reason to be glad of the all-wheel-drive feature on several occasions.

Pleasantly surprised when the 32,000 km service was provided by the dealer at no cost.

Since buying this car I have also bought a 2001 Jaguar XJR which is an entirely different "breed of cat" but, as of right now, we would not drive any other make of car>

2005 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 gasoline from North America

Summary:

A great 10 month old bargain

Faults:

Nothing so far.

General Comments:

This is a very solid well built car which gives the driver a sense of security and confidence by delivering great performance whilst providing a comfortable unruffled ride.

The Jaguar interior in black leather combined with beautiful platinum silver exterior is a joy to own and brings a new level of motoring pleasure. It is to be hoped that the long term experience will be just as good.

Having read reports of mediocre fuel economy I have been pleasantly surprised. If one uses the accelerator gently and running at a steady highway speed 30-35 mpg can be obtained. In-town mileage not so good, but still reasonable.

2005 Jaguar X-Type SE 2.0 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Definitely worth a chance, do not just overlook to get to German or Japanese automobiles

Faults:

There is no visible wear and tear.

General Comments:

This cat is classy!

A smooth ride even in what is supposed to be an underpowered 2.0 V6.

The SE is beautifully appointed and you don't have to look hard to find the specification you desire as you do with MB or BMW.

There is a lot of depreciation in year one so if you can find a low mileage a year or so old I would jump.

An automatic is a must-have in my opinion as you can then fully enjoy the Jaguar driving experience.

Where have you been. I sat in the back of one at the British-motorshow, and a Toyota Aygo has more space (it also had more space than a Hummer H3). I tried to move to the other side, to let my brother get in, and my foot got stuck under the seat. I am sorry, but I am put off Jags forever. Because of that and because of the double-fuel-tank. Would cost a fortune to refuel.

I'm sorry to say, but I do not think the first reviewer is talking about an X-Type Jag - (Two fuel tanks? Expensive to run on a 2 litre engine?) I am presently in the USA and lets just say most cars over here can only dream of that type of economy!!

I would agree with the second comment that the first comment writer has never even seen an X-type Jag. I am currently purchasing a 2.2D and on the test drive I at 6ft tall was driving in the front and my cousin also 6ft tall was sat behind me and had no problems!

The first reviewer is probably talking about the much bigger and thirstier XJ, not the X Type. The XJ has a 4.2 V8, which does 23mpg, where as the X-Type diesel can go up to 50mpg on a combined cycle, and even the most thirsty 3.0 can get 27mpg with better figures on motorway runs.

2005 Jaguar X-Type Luxury 3.0 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Buy one, don’t be another BMW or Mercedes on the road – trust me, you’ll love it!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car not only looks gorgeous, but drives even better than it looks. You can drive it like a limo with passengers sitting serenely in the back; or drop them off and head to the freeway!

Boy, what a growl the engine gives under throttle - how about the AWD handling and precision steering?! Just be careful when accelerating hard, the gearbox can 'jump' a little (this is the only grumble). The Sat Nav is magnificent, the Connolly leather even better - this car looks good, smells good and drives beautifully - you can thrash it and it responds, or cruise - you choose.

To say this car turn’s heads is an understatement!
