1993 Jaguar XJ6 from North America
Summary:
I am looking for an XJ40 convertible as a second wife
Faults:
This is by far the most fantastic automobile I have ever driven or owned.
Head gasket went at 100,000 miles, It was replaced.
The tires on the car are an odd size, 15 x 60. We use to put them on the back of our Camaro when we were young kids.
The car just stopped running, so far the engine control module is to blame. Air flow master is also part of the problem so I have been told. Now I have to add one to the list, crank shaft sensor, if you have a 1993 XJ6 and it just stops, this could be one of the problems.
Locating the parts is a challenge, but with the invention of the Internet, things are getting easier all the time. I have found Ebay to be a great source for parts.
The lights have light modules. If your lights go out, you will need one of these modules to fix the problem. Make sure you check the lightblubs first. They could just be burnt out!
I have had to replace all the injectors, this was not cheap, but I am told that they will last another 100,000 miles.
Gas: you have to run high-test gasoline. With the price going up, this could get expensive. On the good side, it gets 23 miles to the gallon.
General Comments:
Interior: Jaguar went all out, with the blend of wood and the softest leather ever found in a automobile. They rank a 10+ in my book.
The car runs well, in fact at 100 mph this is one of the smoothest rides I have ever been in. Interstate travel in a Jaguar is a reason for living.
The back seat has enough room for that summer picnic with the love of your life. There is plenty of room in the back seat if you want to feel like kids again. Don't worry, the police will understand if you get caught.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
