I bought a used 97 LR Discovery 3 years ago and love it; very few problems. It is slow and sucks gas, but get it into 4 low and it's in it's element. Where I live Jeeps are as common as flies and I wanted something different. I have fully locked it, lifted it, put on HD axles and bigger tires and it is great off road. I run with a local Jeep group and I think they grudgingly have learned to respect the Disco. To the UK guy who said Discos are not off road vehicles I beg to differ. Sure LR's have reliability problems and are costly to maintain, but it is great to own one in Western Colorado where they are few. Mine has been above average I know. I get lots of favorable looks and comments. Jeeps and LR's are both great. It would be a dull world with only Jeeps or only LR's or FJ's. I off road mine a lot in Colorado and Moab and love it. The only thing that stops my Disco is my own pucker factor/nerves and not the vehicle.

I have a Jeep Wrangler Sport 2000. I love it. I haven't had any problems until today! Feb 28, 2009!!! I think I broke my front axle or have a bad CV joint. I hear it knocking but I haven't checked it out yet. It's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever had. Even more reliable than my 94 Honda Accord!

I just got a 2000 Wrangler Sport automatic Jeep. I always wanted one, but I waited till my kids were all grown, and just got it last week. So far it feels really good, I love it. My kids smile at me, and say they can't believe I did it. It makes me feel young again.

That's funny. It seems all the people that have problems with their 2000 Wranglers, have never taken them off road. I have a 2000 TJ, bought it brand spanking new in 99. I go off-road at least once a month. Well it's now 2007 and the only problem I ever had was that the stock sway bar connect broke. Which just gave me an excuse to upgrade it. That's it. 100 bucks for breakage in 7 years. Maybe it's the mud holding it together. I'm getting buried in this Jeep.
