Jeep does make a quality product - at least my 14 year old Wrangler YJ is a quality vehicle.
Built to last and ultra-reliable.
Of course there are compromises in highway ride & handling, Jeeps are made to go where there are no roads.
Take your Civic or Camry where my Jeep can go, and see how long it lasts.
Those who think that Jeeps are not well-made are very wrong.

The YJ's are extremely useless offroad. They have zero suspension flex and a trashy drivetrain. If you honestly think they are amazing, you have little to no experience offroad.

You have either A: never been off road in a YJ or B: never been off road.
These things will kill any trail in a 100 mile radius of where you stand right now.
Me and my YJ have pulled EVERYTHING out of holes and right spots. From huge lifted K5 Blazers, to older CJ5s and even newer four door Wranglers.
Not having a lot of flex has its benefits.
Not everyone wants to be a rock crawler.

I agree. I'd also like to add that I drove my '92 Wrangler on the highway all the time.
Yes it only had the 2.5L so the HP wasn't there, but I'd cruise comfortably at 65mph and it rode as smooth as my Crown Vic. New poly bushings all around, keep the tire size to a minimum if it's a DD, such as 275/35/15's and it's a great daily driver.
I drove it all winter in 2wd because the 4wd didn't work and it was fine. Then again, I drove my Crown Vic P71 the previous winter with snow and ice, and it was cake too. So it depends on the driver I suppose. But I digress. Jeep Wrangler, CJ5, CJ7 fun in the sun and snow, but you gotta be a Jeep person. If you don't like noise or bouncing around, it's not for you. And if it ain't noisy or bouncy, it ain't a real Jeep.

The Jeep Wrangler should be designed for reliability, but it is not.
It is a sad reflection that Toyota can manufacture cars such as the Camry that are well known to be reliable, while the Jeep Wrangler made by Chrysler has a long, long, list of serious reliability problems.
Chrysler is free-riding on the reputation of the Jeep name from many years ago.
If the Jeep won't drive down a paved road reliably, it most certainly won't go off-road.

Jeep is king of the off road. Sometimes when a Jeep is in distress or needs to be towed, another Jeep comes to its rescue. There are YouTube videos that prove this.

Add the words Fun, Versatility and Cool well before a bit of maintenance and you are far ahead. Especially Rubicon’s. One really great vehicle to enjoy.

Agree. That poster sounds like the type who is inconvenienced to ever maintain a vehicle and wonders why it can’t run 150k miles without ever doing an oil change.

One Jeep rescuing another would indicate a level of incompetence on the part of the driver of the Jeep being rescued.
Probably has one of those "It's a Jeep thing" bumper stickers...

They also said that Toyotas are reliable. Therefore I can't understand what you are griping about.

You can always tell who has actually owned cars & who just sucks up propaganda on the internet. The, “Toyotas are unconditionally reliable & far better than other brands” false narrative crowd are the worst. The Honda crowd is slightly behind them. It's easy to find people on this site just as a small case study who have massive issues with both Toyotas and Hondas.

Or I broke down in my overheated Toyota and called AAA to rescue me on hard pavement. And the dealer accused us of not changing our oil and filter. Which was unfounded due to receipts. The tow vehicle was a flatbed. Not a Toyota truck.

Receipts or no receipts doesn't erase the fact that Toyota has an oil consumption and sludge problem, even when changed on time.

Also depends where you are in the world. I've noticed a lot of negative comments and reviews on this site come from the USA. I'm in the UK, and Volkswagen for example have a good image and are regarded as generally reliable cars. USA reviews tell a different story, but this may be due to quality control that went downhill in some cars due to them being built elsewhere (Mexico?) other than Germany, but I could be wrong. I had a VW Passat in the 1990's and it never let me down.
Anyways, Toyota, Honda, and most Japanese cars are also regarded as generally reliable here, and are well liked. I'm no biased fanboy, but will give credit where it is due - to this day the most reliable car I ever had was a 1998 Toyota Camry which I still have. Even the USA reviews of this car speak of great reliability. It's not an invincible problem free car as some would have you believe (no car is), but definitely better than a lot of cars for the long term.

No... completely different wavelengths. Crawling along at 5 mph and getting on the freeway at 75 mph. It's not fuel efficient, not really comfortable, jittery due to SWB and no interior room. Buy a Camry if you want a daily driver.
