2002 Kia Sedona 155000 V6 from North America

Summary:

Good

Faults:

This car had a real bad miss and a surging engine. Sometimes it would stall out.

General Comments:

This is such a common problem. Took me a long time to figure it out, but it was the Vaccum Motor.

2002 Kia Sedona EX V6 from North America

Summary:

Hellish

Faults:

This is my list of things that have gone wrong so far.

-Replaced AC 2 times.

-Replaced Alternator once and it just went out again the other day after only about 50,000 miles.

-In the summer the radio cuts in and out, if I open the door and slam it sometimes the radio will come back on.

-two AC sockets have blown fuses.

-The door handles on both sliding doors are broken.

-New A/C makes an awful racket when idling.

I have a Ford escort that has 181000 miles on it and I haven't had any problems other than what is normal for a car of its mileage, and age (9 years old)

General Comments:

I will not buy another KIA and would see the company run out of the US if I could, will not recommend this manufacturer to anyone.

I agree! This is the worst car I have ever had. We like to call it the "money pit" in our family. I will tell anyone how bad this van is. No more Kias!!

2002 Kia Sedona LX from North America

Summary:

Overall the van has been just okay

Faults:

The air conditioner died just after 60K miles and has been a huge pain and very expensive to fix.

Radiator hoses had to be replaced for $600.

Wheel bearings have needed to be replaced several times.

Rust.

General Comments:

Overall the car has been okay. I have had my van for 5yrs now and have had a few problems. Nothing too major, but a lot of little annoyances. The biggest pain is the A/C. That died way before it's time and was very expensive and hard to fix. The van drives very smoothly and the seats are comfortable. The set up for the drink holder for the driver is of a poor design also. I have almost 100k miles already and have listed the problems I have had with it... still going, though!

2002 Kia Sedona EX 3.5 from North America

Summary:

Car not great, but dealership good

Faults:

Our 2002 Kia Sedona has had many problems. We salute the dealership for honoring the warranty. We have had a new transmission, steering box, A/C system, busted sliding door handles, and multiple batteries, among some of the problems. Knock wood, but so far the engine has been good. Heavy vehicle so lousy mileage, but good road vehicle. Why not make sliding door handles out of metal instead of the cheap plastic that breaks? Poor designs by Kia in this first model year. Also, horrible rear visibility. I hear the newer models are much improved. Thank goodness Bill Byrd Kia has been a great dealership.

General Comments:

Great warranty and dealership, but too much time wasted on repairs to buy another Kia.

2002 Kia Sedona EX 3.5L from North America

Summary:

Comfortable and handy

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this vehicle.

I thought the wipers were not working correctly when I bought it, but it turns out they are AUTO and work only when it rains.. Cool idea KIA!

General Comments:

This is the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned.

It has much more options then any other van I looked at. The Dodge Caravan cannot even compare to the bells and whistles this van has.

It may be a little harder on fuel than I'm used to, but you get used to that.

2002 Kia Sedona EX 3.5 V6 from North America

Summary:

I would never again buy another KIA

Faults:

Well at 50,000 miles we got a recall on the wiring harness under the seat. Took that in to get fixed.

Around 55,000 miles I started noticing rust forming on the rear license plate area. Being a used vehicle off a lease program the warranty was only good for up to 80,000 miles. At 82,000 miles the air conditioning lines all needed replaced along with the condenser and evaporator. $1,500 later the air conditioner still wouldn't work. All the o-ring were bad on the lines going to the back. At 90,000 miles the heater lines developed a pin hole on one of the mounting brackets resulting in a loss of antifreeze, and the front tires began bouncing on us resulting in the need for strut replacement.

General Comments:

My complaint is why do I have to always go to KIA to buy all my parts? The struts are going to cost me 205.00 a piece to just buy the parts to put on myself. Why so much???
