1996 Lexus LS 400 4.0 Liter from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Luxury, comfort and clout if required. Buy one!
Faults:
Light behind the radio display. Needed a new circuit! Cost £240.00 but was under warranty!
General Comments:
This is really the most comfortable car I have ever driven. The spec. is just superb. You get so much for your money, it leaves Mercs and BMW's way behind.
I have tried to start the engine twice when it was already running! It is that quiet!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I agree with you 100%. As a Toyota/Lexus owner (6 Toyotas, 2 Lexus) I totally have to say nothing beats my car. The LS400 ('91) is totally trouble free. We decide to go with the GS400 and not the LS400 in 1998 when buying a new car. We were waiting for the new generation LS and the new LS430 is even better.
So far the GS has been as worry free as the LS so when the new LS430 arrives, we are hoping for it to be as trouble free as the rest of the Toyota/Lexus cars. We were a little afraid with the GS because it was the first year, but to our surprise, it's at least every bit as good as the LS so we are able to rest assured that the new LS430 will be too.
The Lexus were different cause we were Audi, M-B and BMW owners and so when we bought our 1986 Toyota Cressida, we were surprised how good it was and how trouble free it was, so we went on and bought 1989 Cressida and it was the same, just perfect.
After 1992, Toyota had stop sending the Cressida to the USA so we thought we would give Lexus a try, after all at $38000.00 base it is way cheaper than what we were used to with the German cars. Even though that is way higher then what we were used to (also had a '83 Corolla, '87 Tercel, '89 & '94 Camry along with the 2 Cressida), but it was worth every penny we spent on it.
Can't think of anything better to buy. Was too bad that Lexus did not come out with an SUV sooner, we also have a Infiniti QX4 (it's also trouble free), but wish we had a RX300.
