1995 Lincoln Continental 4.6 Intech V8 from North America
Summary:
A wonderful high maintenance machine
Faults:
Radiator cooling fan motor burnt up and caught fire, melting the radiator fans and housing.
Airbag suspension wore out and car slammed to the ground. A very expensive repair, and must be done by the dealer or parts ordered from the dealer. Most mechanics do not like to work on this suspension system.
General Comments:
Of all the cars I have ever owned, Cadillacs, Jaguars, Range Rovers, etc. I have to say this was my favorite car. It was the most comfortable vehicle to drive, and had plenty of power and great gas mileage.
This car had more features and options on it for its time than any other car I've ever owned.
Other than the airbag suspension, the car was very reliable. Lincolns always have problems with this suspension system, and it is a very costly repair.
The engine in this car is excellent. Great gas mileage, plenty of power, and runs smooth as silk. Also very durable, much better than Cadillac's Northstar engines. The car overheated due to the radiator fans burning up, and it did not affect the engine one bit. If this were a Cadillac or another aluminum V8, it would have blown the head gaskets.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

They make kits to get rid of the air ride and install regular shocks and struts.
