2000 Lincoln LS 3.9 V8 from North America
Summary:
Best car to this date that I have owned
Faults:
Replaced 3 window regulators.
New thermostat.
Control Center buttons section pushed through the dash. Easy repair.
Passenger side tail light lens had to be replaced. Bulb kept on blowing due to leak.
General Comments:
All in all, this car has not cost me that much money. The money that everyone else has had to put into there LS I have incorporated into tricking mine out. 20" Driv MVP's with a 3inch lip. Try getting that with a high offset. JL 1000/1 with a 12W7, THUMPS. HID conversion, with halo rings. Full intake and exhaust, 15% tinted windows. EBC slotted/crossed drilled rotors with EBC pads. Tinted tail lights. I guessed I lucked out. HAHA suckers. Enjoy putting your money into your problems and not your pure enjoyment. Anyone else have a good experience with there LS???
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I put 120,000 miles on my 2000 LS. I kept up with the maintenance and everything is running smooth except for very minor things. I keep reading about peoples LS's screwing them over, but mine has been very good to me and I wouldn't trade her in for anything. My leather is even still mint. I feel bad for all you people who don't know how to maintain your LS.

LS are great. I have a 2000 one with over 185,000 miles and it's running better than ever!!!
I bought it in 2002 with in or about 48,000. I drive regularly to the west coast (I'm currently living in Philly) and this car is perfect.
Obviously you have to take care of the maintenance, but other than that, these Lincolns are great. I don't understand how you people are having so much trouble with them.

I've had my 2000 LS since 03, have about 205k on it right now, and still running strong. Well except I'm dealing with a battery drain issue. I can't seem to find out what the problem is, and I'm scared to go to the dealership.
The major problems I've had:
1. Window regulators, I swear I fixed each window in the car at least twice!
2. I experienced the misfire problem, mechanic fixed that for about $300.
3. A radiator house busted and lead to my car overheating, $180 repair.
The person I bought it from did say the transmission went out around 50k, but it was still under warranty.
So for me personally those above are the only problems I dealt with in 7 years. Not too bad especially since it's paid off. In this economy, I don't have the money or credit to buy a new car, so I'm glad I can depend on my LS.

I bought mine used with 18,000 miles, at 44,000 miles I have just put over $2000 fixing out of warranty issues (10/2006). I am fearful at this point. Good luck, but I fear the problems will catch up with you. I'd sell it.
