I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I have a 2005 Lincoln LS V6 with 33k miles and the only things that I have had to replace are tires at 31k miles, front brake pads at 32k miles, and the front passenger side window regulator had to be replaced at 30k miles. In total, I have spent about $1k in repairs.

What's up with the windows? I have replaced the drive side window regulator 4 times, and now the car is misfiring. And the passenger window dropped. I really thought this would be a good car, but now I'm really getting rid of it; too many problems, BEWARE.

I've been reading the comments and starting to rethink my decision of buying a Lincoln LS. I was interested in buying a 2005 model with navigation, sunroof, 63,000 miles, asking price 12,995.00, but I got the dealer to drop down to 11,700.00.
Just wondering if it's worth buying now.

And I thought my problems were based on my LS being the 1st year production model. Yes, it is a 2000. This car had a transmission error @ 54k, caused by what I believe was overheating. Ford fixed it the 1st time, I did it the 2nd time. Caution - do not let the DEGAS bottle go low on coolant; watch it weekly! Keep a bottle of 50/50 green antifreeze handy. Top off weekly... seems to be working. Do not let the engine get hot. SHUT DOWN immediately! Those who are not mechanically inclined should not own one.
The tranny makes a noise when in gear... I know it is coming, but I can't prevent it. Nylon bearings in the tranny probably. Replace a lot of coils too! Easy to do. But a pain in the rear!
Broken door handle, window regulator, clock spring bad, the problem with the horn, cruise control, airbag light, radio controls etc. AC blown fuse.
118k miles, and hoping to get a few more.

I have a Lincoln LS V8, and it started throwing oil though the air filter. Does anyone have this problem? Ford in my town said I would be better off to buy a new motor, but I don't want to put any more money in it.

We had the same problem. We bought the part for 100 dollars, and my husband fixed it himself.

Funny, I have a 2001 Lincoln. Regular maintenance, I have 119989 miles, and I'm still getting 30 miles to the gallon on the highway and 27 city. Owned since new.

OK, for all of you that want to bash the Lincoln LS. Yes, it has had some problems. No, it is not cheap to maintain, but I have found it is all in how you treat and maintain it.
Most of you are talking about a used car you bought! Once more a used car.
I have had mine since 05 when it was new, and have maintained it. The car is one of the fastest cars with all the luxuries you could want, not a problem, and it's at 300000 miles.
Don't buy a used car and judge all others on that. You have no idea how the other owner drove it, maintained it, or why that owner is selling it. You have no business trying to keep up with a car that cost 42 grand new, if you just want to try and impress your friends with A USED CAR.

I've a 2001 Lincoln LS V8 for 4 years now. I have replaced the coil packs, valve covers, window motors, battery, the little plastic jug that holds the coolant, driver door handle and on my 3rd set of tires. And now my A/C and horn are not working, airbag and traction lights are on, skipping, running hot, heater working poorly and foggy headlight. Are there any recalls I'm missing out on?
