I have a 1998 LCS and your review and comments of the "good" & "bad" is spot on! Excellent and extremely accurate info!

By the way, I've gone through all of the "bad" and remedied everything and I couldn't be happier with this vehicle. For a 12 year old car - it blows away a lot of new stuff on the road - including Beemers and Lexuses!

I just got one, and after driving it home and parking it, I can't unlock it! It has key-less entry, but I don't know the code, and the key is not unlocking it. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong or what may have failed?

I was told that sometimes the sunroof will stop working, and the drivers seat won't adjust, so there may be a common thread to the door issue.

I would appreciate any information you can give me.

I also had this problem with the doors not unlocking. However, once you are able to get the car unlocked or if your key will work in the trunk, I found that my keypad door code was printed on the trunk arm from the factory. Hope this helps.

Umm, I know this been over, but did you find the code?

I have the 1997 Mark VIII and like the car well, but there are a couple of annoyances I would like to correct. I am 6'3" tall and have long legs. Every time I turn the car off and pull the key out, the steering wheel pulls in and down and pins my knees down so it is hard to get out. How do I turn the automatic steering wheel telescoping feature off?

The other annoyance is when going into reverse, my side mirrors swivel down so they are facing the ground. I can't see what is behind me any more. How do you turn that off as well?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if still an issue or not, but there is a menu item in the system diagnostics where you can turn the "glide" or EZ Entry feature off in the 97/98 models, unsure on 96-. I set mine the way I like it, then turned that feature OFF to save wear and tear on the mechanicals.
