General Comments:

Great looking and great to drive, I am liking this Mazda 6 so far.

Never had a Mazda before and long term reliability remains to be seen, but from what I have heard they are OK if you look after them, just like any car.

2.0 petrol is a decent engine, performance is good and does around 40 mpg. Claims of 50 mpg are a bit out there - get the diesel if you need that.

The car handles OK and the ride is smooth, a bit firm around town but nothing to complain about.

SE model has plenty of electric features and are easy to use. Seats are very comfortable.

Great looking inside and out, very stylish car. Hard to say much more, it is just a typical family/executive saloon car. Amazing that it is nine years old already, it still feels very modern and I hope to keep it a long time.

Faults:

Center console touch screen was a little hesitant and slow, a dealer reset and update fixed this.

Had the brake pads renewed last time at a service.

Noise from rear suspension - will get it checked out soon.

General Comments:

This Mazda 6 looks very clean and sharp in metallic silver exterior with black cloth interior. SE Nav model is common and well equipped. It has everything you would expect from a 2015 car.

The biggest surprise was the 2.0 petrol engine - I thought this would be better over the diesels and was unsure at first, but after having it a few years I'm glad I got the petrol engine - reliable, quiet and refined, plenty of power and responsive, whilst still managing a good 45 - 50 mpg if you cruise slow. A friend has the same car with the diesel engine, and has had some issues, my petrol however has never had a problem.

The car drives very well. Easily sharper than rival cars, very fun to drive. All the interior controls have an intuitive feel. It is easy to get comfortable for me at average height and weight. Rear headroom might be a little limited for taller passengers - one of my friends is over 6 foot and has noticed being in the back of any of these cars in this class, rear headroom is always an issue. I guess this is a problem across modern cars in general - those sloping rear roof lines might look stylish, but there is obviously a trade off with space. Up front however driver and passengers of all shapes and sizes will have no issues getting comfortable, and kids will find the rear seats just fine.

Overall just a nice reliable modern car that does everything very well, and I hope to keep it a long time.

General Comments:

Excellent and reliable car.

Extremely well built with a quality feel.

Excellent handling, especially with upgraded tires on the factory 19” rims.

Great looks while still practical.

I love that it has a true automatic transmission and not a sloppy CVT like so many others.

Could use 30-50 more hp (turbo models are now available).

A little noisier than some others but not obnoxious.

Bluetooth system occasionally won’t find my phone and has to be restarted.

Great value for money, stickered for $25k, I paid $20500. I have no idea why they don’t sell 300k of these per year. Such a better car than the Accord, Camry and 200S I was also considering. Give Mazda a chance!

Faults:

None, no NVH issues as a new car. Will provide a follow up review in 1 year's time.

General Comments:

I paid $18,000 USD including tax, title, and license to make this my new daily driver. I had a very limited budget for my work vehicle, and found a dealership willing to make an aggressive deal.

This car is a base model, but comes standard with alloy wheels, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, projector-cased halogens, lined trunk including hatch, automatic hill start assist that holds the brakes as you accelerate from a stop (manual transmission only, and works very well without taking away from the experience of a proper manual transmission), traction control, manual lumbar support for the driver's seat, leather wrapped steering wheel and e-brake, USB/Aux ports with iPod integration on the base stereo.

The car has decent acceleration, but all other factors like steering and handling, clutch and shifter feel, and braking make this car absolutely fun to drive for a FWD sedan. I wanted the 2015 for potential of adding an aftermarket stereo with touch screen navigation. Initial build quality is terrific, and my only complaint is seat comfort... the leatherette seats are better.
