1995 Mazda 626 from North America
Summary:
Bad!
Faults:
Transmission failure (year 2000) at 56,000 miles.
General Comments:
The dealer guy at Ford complained why people don’t buy American products. (Translation: buying Ford cars instead of Honda or Toyota). I love American cars, but unless I am willing to walk to work – I will never buy another Ford car.
First Mustang I bought in 1979 (brand new) started leaking oil at 500 miles. After that, I told myself I’ll never get another Ford car. Little that I know Ford took over Mazda.
My Mazda 1995 o/d light started blinking at 55,000 miles – Dealer told me I’ll need a new transmission. I decided to keep it the way it is – using this car only for short distance – going to some place only few miles from home. (Going too far the car will overheat due to transmission) It last for few years. (Any distance longer than 5 miles I will drive my Toyota corolla.)
The transmission died yesterday.
I’ll just sell it to the junk yard.
If Ford gives me a new car for free, I’ll not take it.
Does Ford knows that each bad car they made; they may lose a customer for life?
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

The Mazda 626's w/manual shift are one of the most reliable cars ever made and they sure get amazing gas mileage for a vehicle in its class, you are indeed fortunate to own one with a manual shift.
