Faults:
Clutch slave cylinder needed replacing at 93000.
Started to overheat at 98000, replaced radiator.
Replaced fan clutch and water pump with radiator.
Air conditioning drier/filter plugged at 112000, I also replaced the condenser at the same time.
Front CV axle bearings started to go at 118000.
Failed emissions at 96000. Replaced the oxygen sensor. Passed emissions.
Seats are vinyl and bench type. The vinyl is flimsy and has not held up well.
General Comments:
I like that the truck is small and light weight. I have never been stuck in any snow or ice storms. I have found my way out of places where 4Runners and better drivers failed. Great gearing ratios to match the engine. It is only a 4 cylinder with 125 or horsepower, with the air conditioning on and a load in the back it's a little slow off the line. Its OK at highway speeds though. Gas mileage is acceptable of 20 or so on the highway and 17-18 in town. It takes 89 octane or higher gas or it pings badly, regardless of timing or plugs.
I don't like the seats. Mazda chose cheap seats. I am small in stature and the seats are a bit awkward and somewhat uncomfortable.
The truck is fairly noisy at most speeds, there is no sound insulation anywhere in the doors or rear of the cab.
It uses a bit of oil, 1 quart per 1250 miles. Not too bad considering the mileage. I believe it is due to blow-by on the valves and not the rings.
Overall a good truck. I've done so much to it, but am now selling it for disability reasons. My loss is going to be someone's great gain. The paint is not oxidized one bit, garaged great wheels and tires plus new KYB shocks.

Sounds super. Where in northern Canada? Alberta? I have 2 b2600 4x4 91-92. What would you modify first if on a budget?
